Villa Le Palme

The view is spectacular, the pool is great - but it should be noted that it is deep from the initial steps and not suitable for small kids if they can not swim. The location is quiet, rural and yet still close to the beaches. However, that's where our positives would end unfortunately.

We booked a three-bedroom villa but were only given access to two rooms, with the owner claiming this was standard for four guests, which is not disclosed anywhere in the listing or our booking voucher. Our attempts to resolve this were simply ignored, leaving us without the rooms we paid and had written confirmation for. The property was also advertised as having two bathrooms, but the second bathroom is outside in a separate outbuilding in the garden, which was misleading. The dishwasher, also in the garden and not inside, tripped the electrics every time we used it, and we were told it was a known issue without prior warning. The only option we were told was to reset the electrical switchboard after every use. Furthermore, the listing misrepresented the outdoor amenities, showing five loungers, table and an umbrella, but we found only two badly stained loungers, table and no umbrella. This would be tough in the summer heat. The villa itself is dated, with cracked walls, mold on ceilings and in the shower, and a noisy air-conditioning system that offers no temperature control but simply on or off. Simple things such as ripped and damaged table cloths could easily have been changed ahead of our arrival for better presentation. We also received no access instructions, forcing us to contact the owner for assistance 25 minutes before arrival (and no exit instructions either). The garden grounds were rough, leading to splinters (and shoes definitely needed), and overall, the experience did not match the price. The breathtaking view cannot make up for the poor communication, maintenance issues, and lack of transparency. We gave the owner this feedback after leaving and his response was that the property was 15 years old. In our opinion, age is not the fault of the issues we faced – customer service, good communication and accurate photos are.

It is the most amazing villa with a breathtaking sea view! The private pool was great and we all had so much fun playing in it. It's a little off the beaten track which we enjoyed as it meant it was wonderfully quiet and relaxing. There was also a stunning beach nearby with a reasonably priced bar/restaurant on the beach. A great local restaurant was also close and there are impressive BBQ facilities at the house that we enjoyed cooking on also. Check in and out was super easy and our host Massimo was incredibly helpful and responsive whenever needed! Thank you!
