1 absolutely loved this whole experience, I could not recommend a better place to stay on the island. The host & family are just the loveliest of people with great senses of humour, They really went above & beyond for me, If I ever return to Himmafushi there is no where else I would stay 100% my perfect hosts. My perfect stay ❤️

I had a wonderful time with Usra, Ibrahim, and the whole family at Island Life Homestay. Everyone truly made me feel welcome. Ibrahim picked me up at the harbor upon arrival and brought me there when I left, which was super convenient. I loved the whole homestay concept — it was so refreshing not to be just an anonymous guest, but to get a glimpse into the life of a local Maldivian family (including authentic karaoke nights! :). Everyone was very friendly, open, and helpful. The homemade local breakfast, served in the family kitchen, was delicious, especially the fresh flatbread. Usra even invited me to join dinner one evening — so tasty! She was always attentive and genuinely caring towards the guests. The two rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable, with good air conditioning, comfy beds, and a shower with hot water. There’s also an outdoor area/courtyard in front of the rooms, where you can relax on a swing or make yourself a coffee. Since the island is quite small, you can reach the beaches, various restaurants and supermarkets within a 1–10 minute walk. Thank you so much to everyone at Island Life Homestay, especially to Usra! I’ll try to improve my surf level quickly so I can return soon! :)

I had the most incredible stay at Island Life Homestay in Himmafushi. From the moment I arrived, the host family welcomed me with open arms and made me feel like part of their own. They were beyond accommodating, always ready to help with anything I needed—whether it was recommendations, answering questions about the island, or just making sure I was comfortable. The room was spotless, spacious, and had everything I needed for a perfect stay—a comfortable bed, great air conditioning, and a powerful hot shower with amazing water pressure. The entire homestay was exceptionally clean, and I loved the open common spaces, which were perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. One of the highlights of my stay was breakfast, homemade every morning by Usree. It was delicious and freshly prepared with so much care—the perfect way to start the day. If you’re looking for a place that’s not just a stay but an experience of true island hospitality, I can’t recommend Island Life Homestay enough. It’s a place where you arrive as a guest and leave as part of the family. I can’t wait to come back!

Having breakfast together with the family... Such a lovely time to share with the local community!

I stayed here for five days while doing a dive course. Saleem and his family are genuine people and make you feel at home. The room is spacious and comfortable and the Maldivian breakfast is quite tasty. I really enjoyed our conversations and learning about the culture and island life. For sure, it’s the been the highlight of my time in Maldives. Thank you.

My stay at this family-owned guesthouse in Himmafushi 🏝️was exceptional. ⭐️ The warm hospitality and family-like atmosphere made me feel right at home. The owners were incredibly friendly and even waited for me with their golf buggy to take me to the accommodation. Ibrahim offered me a complimentary tour around the island, showing all the best spots for swimming, snorkeling, and surfing. Not only that, but he also showed me the best places to see baby sharks and stingrays. 🦈 They provided free tea, coffee, and water every day, and breakfast was included daily. The breakfast was specially made to my liking and included Maldivian food, fruits and drinks, which was a lovely touch. Even though my check-in was supposed to be at 2 PM, they kindly offered me breakfast when I arrived early in the morning. After the first breakfast and a little rest, I went snorkeling with my accommodation neighbors and the owners, who provided me with free snorkeling gear and showed us the best place for snorkeling. 🤿 The air conditioning worked perfectly, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. Plus, the owner had even made the furniture in the room himself, adding a personal and unique touch. The island’s best shop is just a one-minute walk away. The accommodation was quite modern but still offered a lovely cultural touch of the Maldivian people. 🇲🇻 The owners also helped me with the speedboat transfers to the island and back to the capital, making the whole trip seamless and stress-free. Their son is even doing boat tours. Sure you don’t want to miss that. 🏝️ It was really nice to stay with them because you could even feel like part of the family 😊 but also had privacy.
