I can't say enough good things about The Nifty Nook. What a beautiful apartment, everything was spotless, it all looked brand new! The shortbread and wine were lovely welcoming touches! The place was one of the best places I have ever stayed in and I have been around the block more than a few times. Both Dawn and Simon were very avaliable to answer any questions I had. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending The Nifty Nook to anyone visiting Cambeltown. Paul Thompson

Absolutely nothing!!!

We have been to Campbeltown at least 4 times. This is the best located of all the places we have stayed and probably the most comfortable too. If you happen to be there for a Friday or Saturday night you may want to book Restaurant 42 before arriving. We missed out as they were fully booked at the times we wanted. Because of this we went to the fish shop across the road and bought fresh fish which we cooked at ‘home’. Beautiful fresh fish (herring for us) and a few interesting prepared items too. The Co.-op is easy walking distance. We had one little problem, which Dawn sorted within an hour! Brilliant. They deserve their high ranking, we look forward to returning.

Central to Campbeltown, quiet, very clean and well equipped, parking was easy.

Great location, easy access to everything in town. Very polite and responsive hosts and the premises very clean and cozy - better than in the pictures. Definitely would come back again.

The apartment has everything we needed for a four-day stay. It is very comfortable and the kitchen is well-equipped. The property is located in a nice street, handy for local shops and restaurants. The hosts are very helpful and responded quickly to a question I had. We found the Kintyre Larder almost at the end of the street and it has a good stock of locally-supplied foods and drinks. We made several stops there. The restaurant Number Forty Two is very close by and the food and service were excellent. We had a great choice of fresh seafood and would recommend the restaurant. The Cadenhead's Whisky Shop has a "Tasting Room" cafe nearby - ask in the shop for directions because it's tucked away, a little out of sight. There's a small selection of very fresh food in the Tasting Room and its also a great place for a late morning coffee or an afternoon stop. The distillery tours were well worth the trip - they were the main purpose of our visit. However, Campbeltown is also a good destination for boat trips, bike hire and coastal walks. Before we even left, we were planning to go back.

The Scottish weather is very changeable so most places supply a lovely, warm winter quilt. However, I found that too warm during my stay and would have preferred a lighter weight of quilt with maybe a blanket to add if the night was colder. However, this is very much my personal preference and may not bother other travellers at all. I brought my own lighter-weight blanket because I half expect the quilt will be too heavy for me when the weather turns warmer.

The apartment is spacious, clean, fully equipped and nicely decorated. Clear directions for the self check in. Free parking is just around the corner. Excellent location in the centre of Campbeltown. All whisky distilleries within walking distance ;). Would definitely book again!
