Old City Charm

The apartment is walking distance to old town.

There is absolutely nothing charming about this place. Only after booking were we informed that the closest parking costs €30 per night — a surprising and frustrating discovery for a four-night stay. Even worse, the parking wasn’t particularly close, and we had to carry 7 bags and manage 3 kids over cobblestones to reach the apartment. The host met us briefly at the carpark but offered no help with our luggage and simply sent us a drop pin before disappearing. We expected at least a proper welcome or assistance, but that was clearly too much to ask. The building itself was uninviting — the entrance was wet and covered in mould. From there, we had to climb 8 flights of narrow, steep stairs that felt unstable and unsafe. Not ideal when you're exhausted or managing children. The apartment was not as described. There were no ocean views — just a small glimpse over rooftops from one bedroom. There was no dishwasher, no toaster, no microwave, only a small bar fridge, and no pull-out sofa, just a small couch. We were also not provided with enough linen or towels for our group. The air conditioning barely worked and eventually started leaking directly onto my daughter and the couch she was sleeping on. With no washing machine and only one bathroom (with a shower that didn’t drain properly), our stay became increasingly uncomfortable. Overall, this accommodation was a major letdown. Misleading listing, lack of basic amenities, and poor communication from the host made this a frustrating experience. Would absolutely not recommend. The host did help us with some bags upon checkout after asking for help.

The apartment is located in the heart of Rovinj — though it’s quite small and situated in the attic. It’s convenient for a short stay, especially if you’re traveling light. The charm of the old town, with its winding alleys and tiled rooftops, added to the lovely atmosphere. The host was super nice and very kind, helped us with our luggage, and allowed us to check in early to drop it off. Thank you!

The apartment is smaller than it looks in the photos, with limited space to put your luggage. The shower drained slowly, and the bathroom had an unpleasant smell—likely due to the age of the building. The electrical outlet in the bathroom not working. We could hear birds on the roof and neighbors next door (there seem to be 3 apartments in the attic including this one). An iron and coffee machine would have been useful additions. The stairs to the apartment are steep, uneven, and slippery, I and the dirty stairwell was not great first impression. Despite this, we had fun stay :)

Two-bedrooms apartment, with cozy furniture. It was spacious for two of us. It was light and well equipped. 5 min from a bus station, that was very convenient. Charming part is that apartment is in historical district of Rovinj, literally you just open a window or going outside- and you are in the middle of history.

Can’t say it is something bad, but it is worth considering. History has it worse for modern people (entering the building you feel the wet) - it is not in apartment. Apartment is on the last floor (3d) with only narrow wooden stairs (no elevator), if you have a big luggage or limited mobility, it might be complicated to get there). There was no hairdryer inside (it was disappointing). But our host replied immediately and proposed to bring his own 😇. Weather was warm so we actually managed that.
