The Dreamer's Terrace

A huge apartment with stunning panoramic views over the bay of Naples and Vesuvius, able to witness fabulous sunsets (we forgot our binoculars). Also the bedrooms with very comfortable beds, lead to another east facing balcony looking over local well maintained “allotments” (see photos). The most spotlessly clean apartment we have ever stayed in with authentic, beautiful furnishings. An array of treats left for our arrival. Easy communication, met by Alessia and Domenico who carried our luggage up the steps, with the same arrangement for leaving so no need to worry about lifting luggage up and down. Alessia and her family are committed to making your stay as comfortable as possible and nothing is too much trouble. There are a lot of steps so not for the less mobile but once in the apartment with its stunning views, you are on top of the building and your only neighbours are below. The apartment is quiet. Located 3 minute walk from mini market and 5 mins walk from the train station with frequent cheap local trains, this property is ideal for exploring and day tripping whilst not needing a car. We visited Naples (ticket €4, takes an hour), Pompeii €2.60 (30 mins) (have a look at the “Pompei one card” if you want to go more than once), Herculaneum €2.80 (40mins) Sorrento €2.40 (15 mins). From Sorrento, a coach to Amalfi (buy tickets at Sorrento station but they like cash). There is a coach (Curreri Viaggi) you can book for transport to and from Naples airport which we found reliable and efficient. Ate in some good local restaurants/pizzerias in Vico Equense, but several times popped into Sorrento for evening meals, catching the last train back just after 22:00, happy to leave its noise and mayhem behind.

There are a lot of steps but absolutely worth it for the views and relative quietness

One of the best places we have ever stayed. The view from the terrace was stunning and the location of the apartment was ideal. Vico Equense is a beautiful town, with lovely restaurants and great transport links. Alessia and Domenica were the perfect hosts, met us on arrival, helped us take our luggage up to the apartment and had left some welcome gifts for us! We would love to come back!

Nothing. But just to note, if stairs are difficult for you there are several to enter the apartment.

What an amazing find. The view from the terrace is breathtaking. The photos don't do it justice. The apartment is clean, comfortable and spacious, with some fabulous furniture, lighting and artwork. It's in a great location, 5 minutes from the train/bus station and local shops and an easy walk into the centre. Alessia was the perfect host, she couldn't have been more helpful. She met us late at night for our check in, bringing her boyfriend to help with her English, and to carry my luggage. We particularly appreciated the thoughtful welcome gifts of Limonicello, pastries, sweets and biscuits. She was always on hand throughout our stay to answer our questions via WhatsApp. We'd definitely stay here again.

The stairs! There are several flights to get up to the apartment. It's fine if you take your time and trust me, the view from the terrace is worth the effort.

Everything about this property is amazing: the apartment is beautiful and very spacious, the terrace is huge and the view is hands down spectacular: you have a full view of Vesuvius in front of you! Really a dream! The hosts, Alessia and Gaetano , greeted us when we arrived with local dessert and limoncello , showed us around the town and gave us recommendations on restaurants. We also fell in love with Vico Equense: it’s very authentic, no crowds of tourists, people are very friendly, great food . I would love to come back and I would definitely stay at Dreamer’s Terrace .
