Location and safety

The accommodation was spacious, clean and well appointed. There were lots of nice touches that were appreciated, like fresh milk in the fridge. We didn't realise before staying that each bedroom had an ensuite bathroom (one with a shower) and there was a third bathroom downstairs (again with a shower) so this was a bonus! The sofabed in the lounge was comfortable and made a great third bedroom. The host was easy to contact and very helpful with queries that we had.

The location is genuinely excellent for Villa Park and Alexandra Stadium. Unfortunately it's not in the nicest area and our party of 3 women didn't feel particularly comfortable getting from the car to the flat, but once in the flat we were comfortable and safe and we didn't actually have any issues. The flat is situated on a very noisy road.

It was clean and comfortable and fairly close to the Alexander Stadium where we went to watch the athletics. The host was very friendly and helpful. The beds were comfortable.

The Wi-Fi signal was weak and non existent on our second and final day. We could not regulate the heat in the showers. It was either too hot or very cold. The kitchen was well equipped but only one dinner knife.

The location was central for us close to amenities shops etc.

The neighbourhood was quite run down with lots of litter and rubbish in the street. We even saw a rat! The property was not read for us even after 5pm so we had to drop off our things leaving the key with cleaning staff whilst we went out to eat….this was not ideal. Only one fan worked it was over 30 degrees that weekend and no ice tray for drinks or butter knives or proper mugs…also insufficient towels left dispite complaining and asking for an extra towel.
