The Cock Hotel

Excellent host who was very helpful and friendly. The hotel is perfectly located for day trips to Hay-on-Wye. Quick and easy access to local amenities (3min walk to mini petrol station supermarket) and the recommended breakfast place was great!

Very friendly welcome and a great place to stay, we had both of their rooms which were clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. Hardly heard the pub music and it was extremely quiet over night in the village. We enjoyed a lovely meal with good food and wine. We would definitely recommend and stay again.

Very convenient location for touring and/or for visiting Hay on Wye. Clean and comfortable with excellent food in the evening. Definitely book the evening meal: it's a busy pub, very popular with the locals who come to eat even midweek and has a really welcoming atmosphere. Quiet village but near main roads so perfect for access and sleeping! The room we had was absolutely as shown in the photo. The price was sensible. Very friendly welcome from the hosts. No breakfast provided so we were given recommendations. We went to a garden centre nearby for breakfast, as recommended and were really pleased with it. Overall, good value.

Lovely and clean room. Despite it being over a pub you could hardly hear any of the noise from downstairs.

Steve and Melissa were exceptional hosts we were made to feel right at home from the moment we walked through the door. The room was spotless and had everything you needed for a comfortable stay. We had dinner when we arrived and the food was really nice and great value. We would highly recommend a stay here and we will definitely be back again.

Lovely welcome at the Cock Hotel, we stayed for one night and enjoyed a meal inthe restaurant. The food was very good, my husband had a homemade chicken and leek pie and said it was the best he had ever had. Our room was clean, comfortable and met our needs beautifully.

Nothing to dislike really but it would have been great to have Breakfast offered although we were aware of this before booking and there was a cafe in the village.

Decent rooms, great hosts who were helpful. Very nicely decorated rooms. On site parking

Rooms should have blinds to keep morning light out. Access to room was with quite a few steps and narrow passages- difficult for those traveling with heavy bags.

The food was exceptional, delightful talented chef, friendly owners

The scotch was very very expensive
