RUM OSCAR LUXURy CAMP

Advertized camp is under construction and not ready to host guests. Transfer to a similar camp was suggested by the "manager" but only if we committed to buying extra services from him (jeep tours). Since we declined, he rescinded his offer to get us to the other camp and we had to find another accomodation last minute for the night.

Beware - tourist trap. The name on Booking.com has been changed to "Oscar luxury camp", when google sshows "Hugo luxury camp', probably to try and avoid the negative reviews the place has online. The camp construction is unfinished and the site is not ready to host guests. When we got there, construction workers called a young man presented as the manager. He wrongfully claimed he had try to warn us (the day before) through Booking.com that the site was not ready (he had not and the reservation was over a month old...). He then says that we will take us to a similar camp that is ready for guests but he "needs" us to book a jeep tour with him to make it worth his time. This is coercive selling and bordering on extortion. It makes for a very stressful experience - you are in a desert area where arranging a last minute alternative accommodation is difficult. Please stay safe & avoid this place - there are legitimate camps & many honest, trustworthy Bedouin guides in the Wadi Rum- just not at this place.

The camp is outside of the desert so you can use your car to drive there and anywhere from there. The staff was very nice and helpful and they bc an organise some activities if you don’t want to search alone, but you may pay a bit more. The sureoundings were very nice, tent comfortable. They took us to rhe nice sunset spot.

They arranged for us a 4-hour jeep tour at sunset and a camel ride at sunrise. It was a beautiful and wonderful experience to explore the desert. Also the food here was very delicious. Not to forget the Bedouin tea made on the fire which was .delicious. Thank you for your hospitality

The owner Ahmed is a very kind and generous person. He did everything he could to make us happy, such as taking us on a free stargazing tour for a few minutes on the first night, offering tea, and suggesting the most authentic experiences. He is a Beduin, so the culture is full of hospitality. Don't be intimidated if he suggests visiting his house and offering you tea. All the other staff are also very kind and available, ready to serve you as much as they can. This place has an amazing location, and all the tours are well organized. I specifically suggest the 6-hour flight and the beautiful scenery. I also suggest a camel ride at sunrise, which gives a very warm feeling at the beginning of the day. Thanks to Faizal and everyone else for making this an amazing experience!

If you get chance have a chat with the staff (maybe near the indoor fireplace while sipping sage, cardamom and cinnamon The camp is GREAT, really clean and neat. The food for dinner and breakfast was AMAZING (with many Bedouin tradition based vegan/vegetarian options). The camel ride at sunset was really nice and so was the Jeep tour with Ahmad (you can pick how many hours you'd like the tour to be and they will arrange the best route for you). They also provide a great night stargazing tour (with hot tea and open fire), astonishing especially during summertime. The staff was really really kind and they offer an authentic experience of the Bedouin life since they are original and still live in the desert themselves. I strongly advice to pick Wadi Rum Oscar camp to live an amazing desert experience. If you travel alone or just want great memories, the staff is really good both at taking pictures and incredible videos

A beautiful and wonderful place. The reception was beautiful. The staff were welcoming. We felt like we were at home very comfortable. The prices for the activities were very reasonable. Ahmad and his brother were helpful with us. The food was beautiful and the room was .clean.

Everything I expected, a beautiful and amazing location in the middle of the desert, amazing small hills, a perfect view of the sunset, a warm welcome and an always smiling team. I really recommend it to you.
