Lake Island homestay is situated in a beautiful, tranquil setting and the hosts are so friendly, welcoming and helpful. They provided an amazing dinner and breakfast too. Would highly recommend for somewhere to stay near Dambulla!

The host family are incredibly friendly, warm, helpful and welcoming. They prepared a welcome juice for us, drove us all the way to the scooter rental address, helped us by walking us to the nearby bus stop to make sure we got on the right one and made us the most delicious meals! We felt super spoilt by them and I would definitely not hesitate in visiting them again. 100% recommend the host family :)

It's a bit dated and the bathroom could be a bit cleaner but not a big deal

We were a night stay at Lake Island Homestay recently, and it is highly recommended to stay. location is walking distance to Ibbankatuwa wewa. The place is very calm and quiet. The room is very clean and comfortable. The owner is very friendly & helpfully. There was a beautiful temple at the end of the lake, and it is a memorable place to us. They served a very delicious breakfast. good place to homestay.

The owners were kind and hospitable. Was always available to attend our needs without hesitation.

The place is very calm and quiet, with a big garden, away from busy roads. The room is not big, but comfortable, and there is a big common area. The hosting family is very nice, kind and ready to help, they make sure you have best experience of the area, they made me feel welcome. The breakfast i had was light, good and nutritious.

There was nothing i disliked to be honest

We can only recommend Lake Island Home Stay. The guesthouse is located in a pretty courtyard full of vegetation. You are a stone's throw from the lake where you can take a walk and cool off with a swim. At the end of the lake there is a very pretty Hindu temple which is worth the visit and you can also walk along the magnificent rice plantations and meet the kindness of the local people. The room is superb, spacious, functional and very clean. But what makes this beautiful place so charming is undoubtedly the hosts Rassika, her husband and her son who welcome you as if you were members of their own family. Rassika gave us places to visit and cooked us delicious breakfasts, snacks and dinners. She has always been caring, only wanting to please us and make us happy. During our stay, my friend suffered a severe neuralgic spinal attack causing unbearable pain and preventing him from walking. Rassika and her husband provided us with the medicines we needed to calm the pain. The next day the situation got worse and our hosts did everything they could to take my friend to a very good private clinic so that he could be taken care of as quickly as possible. Thanks to their actions, they were able to relieve the excruciating pain my friend was suffering, but even after that, Rassika remained attentive to our well-being, offering us fresh juice and cake. I have very rarely experienced such incredible, kind and dedicated hosts in my life. We could never thank them enough for everything they have done for us. These people are simply incredible and deserve the best. If you want to stay in Dambulla, this is definitely where you should leave your luggage for an unforgettable experience👌☺️ Isa & Vojtěch
