Cozy Penthouse by HR Madeira

The views from the balconies were beautiful. The apt. is very spacious and well equipped. There were several things left I kitchen too. Comfortable accommodations with many things available to get us started. The convenience of having the market close is a plus. For a family, this is a great place to rent. Apartment with 3 bedrooms must be rare. The apt. does not have A/C, but given its elevation, it didn't need it in July. We kept the baloney doors open.

Worse part: en suite BR: water always ran onto the floor in BR and without towels on the bedroom floor. I tried so many ways to adjust shower heads to no success. I reported it, and nothing was done. The letting agent said she would inform the owner. The washer had to have the water removed once in order to work properly. We used Google to figure it out. I would have preferred an automated entry to the apt. that way, there is no need for a late check-in fee. Unexpectant things happen! This has nothing to do with this apt per se; however, the driving to the apt and hills of Madeira are very challenging. I would have preferred to be in Funchal to avoid driving the high rollercoaster hills. I avoided the drive to the clouds (a site seeing activity) bc I feared the drive. That one's on me. Another side note...no one in Portugal uses a spatula. (LOL). I'll bring mine next time. Every place we've stayed lacked a spatula.
