Hunter's Haven

Beautifully scenic location. Host was gracious and welcoming. Communication was excellent. Extremely thoughtful provisions for travelers. Comfortable private room, great shower, access to large kitchen. Can't say enough good things! Wish we'd had a week here rather than just one night.

The location was fantastic, just on the edge of town with spectacular views from the back deck.

Can’t think of anything to improve on. The place was great and Anita the owner was a wonderful hostess.

Ein sehr schöner Ort zum Entspannen, sehr großes schönes Zimmer, Bett und Badezimmer. Alles da was man braucht. Anita ist eine sehr nette Gastgeberin, die alles macht damit man sich wohl fühlt. Wir durften die finnische Saune benützen, was ein Highlight für uns war mit tollem Blick auf die Berge. Kommen sehr gerne wieder!

I am extremely disappointed that we booked a stay at hunters haven, and there was no way to reach that booking location without taking a ferry, or driving 8 hrs up and around, away from where we needed to be in the morning, to board a ferry on Sunday. There was no mention of the need take a ferry for our Saturday night stay in Haines Alaska in the listing, let alone having to have reservations for a ferry, which said ferry didn't even offer a trip on Saturday, (the day we were scheduled to be in Haines for the Hunters haven) we contacted the property to let them know we couldn't even get to them... the host said she was sorry but it was a non refundable booking. But she would be kind enough to refund half of it because of the situation. And she still had to pay a cleaner regardless. We feel like this is her fault for not being upfront in the booking that if you are coming from the ferry dock area in Skagway, you would still need to book a ferry and make sure you can get out to Haines. Seems like a great way to con tourists, and make almost $100 for someone who isn't from the area and can't get out to you. Then come across as a hero for refunding $85 of the $170. I would have never booked had I read in the booking a ferry was required before I got there, and no ferry's were running!!! I expect booking to step up and take care of this, and require this host to include this in their listing for people in the future!!! The real clenched was when I spoke to the property owner in the phone explaining the situation, she shared with me that this had been a problem in the past as well! Seriously? And you don't think you need to make mention of it in the property listing to prepare future guests to plan ahead for this???!!!

Profile makes it sound as if there is a private entrance. There isn’t . You have to come in through the main door, kitchen, living room and up some stairs to get to the room. Did not like the noisy bridge party downstairs that went until after 11 making sleep impossible. Otherwise very quiet place.

A wonderful host and the perfect place to stay in Haines. The views are incredible. I definitely recommend this place.
