Homer Old Spot

Sehr schöne Unterkunft auf einem traumhaften Gelände mit Flusslauf und kleinem Wasserfall im Garten. Ideale Lage um Dartmoor zu erkunden. Es ist zwar alles sehr klein und auf engem Raum, aber als Paar hat man alles was man braucht. Netter Vermieter und in einem Extraraum können Waschmaschine, Trockner und großer Kühlschrank genutzt werden. Lydford Gorge und der Pannier Market von Tavistock sind nur ein paar Fahrminuten entfernt.

Für einen größeren Menschen wie mich (1,85m) ist es dann doch ein wenig klein für einen längeren Aufenthalt. Für den Fall ist aber noch ein größeres Häuschen auf dem Gelände

De locatie ligt zeer gunstig. In de nabije omgeving zijn veel wandelmogelijkheden en dingen te doen. De tuin bij het huisje is mooi, er stroomt een rivier doorheen.

Het huisje zelf is ergklein en vooral erg donker. De hele dag moet het licht aan. Er is ook geen gezellig hoekje om te zitten, weinig sfeervol. Het plafond is zo laag dat ik het met mijn 1.76 makkelijk aan kan raken. Niet geschikt dus voor langere mensen. De prijs vind ik hierdoor ook behoorlijk hoog.

Absolute haven! Homer Old Spot was perfect for a quiet getaway. Ali and Alan put a lot of love and care into their property — the nature is flourishing and the accommodations are clean and cozy. I loved it.

Beautiful setting

We were very lucky it didn’t rain because the property was tiny with not even a table provided. It definitely needs some thought put into the arrangement of facilities. Also the walls are damp so bad weather would have made it impossible.

It is a unique venue. We enjoyed the property as it was peaceful with a stream flowing past the door. It was compact with a kitchen with everything you needed. Good shower and bathroom. There was a washing machine and dryer which was appreciated. The host left us a lemon drizzle cake which was superb. Words cannot describe how good it was.

If you are tallish you need to be aware of the head height. You need to be careful with the slates in the pathways as they can be slippery in the wet.

Loved the location

sweet quiet litte abode next to stream. easy to go hiking up the moors, or to visit Lydford gorge. lovely gift of lemon drizzle cake on arrival. could buy meat and own free range eggs homemade jams from the property. had a washing machine and freezer. friendly host. for a 2 night stay for a couple it was great.
