Boutique Hotel Villa Blu Cortina D'Ampezzo

The property is surrounded by mountains, and we truly enjoyed sitting on the balcony, taking in the beautiful views of the town and the mountains. The breakfast was superb.

I requested twin beds at the time of booking, and the request was approved. However, when we checked in, the room had a double bed instead.

Great view of mountains. Very quiet area. Ample parking space. Easy walking distance to the central area using the stroll/ bike path ending at the park just north of the main shopping street. Staff were all very kind and easy to communicate in English. Dinner was excellent.

We stayed three nights. Breakfast menu did not vary from day to day, although there were sufficient variety available.

The biggest disappointment was the WiFi. It was almost impossible to connect from day 1, despite staff claiming it was due to bad weather. We only managed a very brief and unstable connection on one day during our entire stay. In today’s world, reliable internet is essential, especially for travelers, and this was a major letdown. The bathroom shower leaked quite badly onto the floor, making it slippery and messy every time we used it. The pillows were also extremely flat and uncomfortable, which affected our sleep quality. Breakfast had limited food choices, and the presence of large tour groups meant that popular items ran out quickly with very slow refills. This made the buffet experience somewhat chaotic and frustrating during peak times.

It is a little bit far from the center of the city.

We hadden een grote kamer met een mooi terras en prachtig zicht op de stad. Veel parkeerplaats en nog een heel grote ondergrondse parking ook.

We wilden iets drinken bij aankomst om 16u30 en dat was blijkbaar niet evident. Dus niet meer doen dan. Het ontbijt stelt ook niet veel voor en je moet zelf gaan vragen om een koffie te mogen krijgen-nog nooit meegemaakt! Je vraagt dan een americano en krijgt een half tasje?? Het mannelijk personeel dat de mensen bediend bij het ontbijt is een ramp! Het hotel in het algemeen is ook wat verouderd. Piepende bedden, kapotte zetels. 4 sterren? Ik denk het niet!
