Nam Bo Boutique Hotel

Very friendly and helpful staff. Great location. Great view of the river (from the Suites with Balcony, unsure if Main Suites would have the view), and Ninh Kieu Walking Street on Saturday and Sunday nights. The fruit in the welcome platter (bananas and rambutans) were so fresh and sweet. Living usually in a colder climate I forget how much better tropical fruit is when it is fresh. I wonder if the Vietnamese know what they are missing when it comes to fresh beetroots, turnips and broccoli, ha!

The street can be a bit noisy, but usually gets quieter after 930pm, then fairly minimal after 1030pm. Actually this goes to show how good the staff were, when I put in my reservation I said we could be light sleepers, they suggested I cancel the Balcony Suite booking and rebook a Main Suite which is actually cheaper. In the end I kept our original booking (I really wanted to be facing the river) but to be helpful they were willing to take a hit to the wallet, something many businesses wouldn't. In terms of why those rooms are quieter, the flat windows of the Main Suites and bedroom of the Balcony Suite (or at least ours) were thicker glass, whilst the balcony doors windows were thinner glass. Our suite had a door between the lounge area and bedroom so actually wasn't an issue. Anyway, that is clearly too much talk about glass pane thickness, I am losing cool points by the sentence!

Really spacious room, kind staff. We had a great stay during our honeymoon.
