Hostal El Paso

Kitchenette and dining table were convenient. Beds were not what I would call comfortable, one extremely firm, and one with old springs. Nearby dog starts barking at 6: 30a.

No host or owner was there to meet me or explain what was going on. Two Colombian women said there was no room available, they were already in the two rooms there. My taxi driver phoned the property number, a male voice said "Hello" and then hung up. I phoned the number, there was no answer at all. The place looked abandoned with no one there except the two Colombian women who basically told us to go away. It was at 1:30 pm, the stated hours of the place. My taxi drive had to take me into downtown David to find a normal place to stay for the night. ( I was getting a flight at the David airport the next day.) I had to pay the taxi driver $40 more American to take me downtown to find a normal place to stay for the night., this "El Paso" is out at the edge of town in the suburbs and no one was around. There was some kind of "for sale" sign on the front of the property. It seems like it has changed hands and there are real issues happening here. *I don't think this strange place should be listed on any booking sites. I don't speak much Spanish and I had heavy luggage, if I had gotten out of the taxi and been left in this abandoned place, I would have really been in trouble. I booked this in March, so this place must have changed hands and there are issues.
