Sing Key Beach

The location was the best aspect, as the three bungalows are situated right over the water and face a small island in the foreground and limestone cliffs and mountains in the background. This is a place for pure chilling out, as there is little else to do, besides swimming and snorkeling, which is recommended to the south of the small island. The owners are very nice and seemed responsive to our food requests. The bungalows themselves are very clean, but simply furnished, which was fine. No hot water, but in the tropics, and in a non-airconditioned environment, it is not necessary. The bed was sufficient 8/10, the room was quite spacious and the deck faced the sea and the lovely landscape. Simply put, it is a great place to just hang and chill while on a long tour of Indonesia.

The negatives were largely overcome by outstanding location, but should be mentioned here in all fairness. There is no wifi at the resort, nor is there even decent cell service to support say using your phone as a hotspot for your laptop. Normal reception was 1 bar, with infrequent 2 bar, but much of the time, just not at all. You need to come to terms with that aspect early on to avoid frustration and just settle in and chill, which could be difficult for those firmly attached to social media. The food you eat will be all prepared by the owner's family and that took a bit of discussion/negotiation, largely by Google translate, as they only speak Bahasa Indonesian language. This took a couple of tries, but eventually, we had some really nice fish, omelettes and fresh fruit, sufficient. Don't come here for the food, come here for the chill time.

When we arrived we were immediately mesmerized by the beauty of this stunning place and the amazing views! We stayed even longer because of how lovely it was! Also the hosts Ali and Tutti and their family (their young son was the sweetest and even made sure we were ok while snorkeling) will do everything to make you happy and accomodate to every request. When I was feeling a little under the weather they also made sure I got fresh fruit and checked what they could do to help. The meals included are simple but extremely tasty from an amazing chef. The small cottages are also simple but clean (the water surrounding the cottage is so clear you can see the fishes swimming under your feet!) and the views of the mountains and sea are incredible! The small village Saleman is at walking distance (10 min) and boat drivers are always available upon request. We stayed for 5 days in total and almost saw all the other beaches and resorts: to our opinion Sing key was by far the most comfy and pretty place to stay when here! I would recommend everybody to stay here when near Pantai Ora!

We liked everything, but just some advice when staying here: - there is only very limited to no internet here or in the village. We considered it a blessing but organizing further travels while staying here or trying to find info online can be challenging. People are willing to share hotspots if you ask. - people in this part of Seram do not have a lot of English. Make sure you speak some basic Bahasa Indonesian to communicate or download Indonesian on your google translate. - this area is quite a religious muslim area. Do not expect touristic bars or availability of alcohol (Bintang) in the resorts!

This is a fabulous place. The location is stunning, the rooms spacious and well appointed and our hosts made us feel like family guests. The meals were varied and delicious and our hosts helped us organize snorkeling trips. Just perfect.
