Villa Sea View

Everything was excellent. The house, the furnishings, the view, the location, the surroundings, and the contact with the very helpful owner.

Er waren geen gordijnen aanwezig in woonkamer en slaap vertrekken. Badjassen misten we ook, de bedden waren niet schoon.

Przede wszystkim zachwycający widok z tarasu i pokoi – naprawdę robi ogromne wrażenie. Do tego świetny basen i przestronny taras, które sprawiają, że pobyt jest bardzo przyjemny. Salon był duży i przestronny, kuchnia dobrze wyposażona, a dodatkowym atutem jest to, że każdy pokój ma swoją osobną łazienkę. Lokalizacja to świetny punkt wypadowy do zwiedzania całej Madery. Jedyne, czego zabrakło, to pralki – byłoby to duże udogodnienie przy dłuższym pobycie.

Quelques fourmis qui parviennent à rentrer du côté de la cuisine, quelques véhicules bruyants qui passent la journée sur la route en contrebas de la maison mais la nuit c'est très calme.

Stay away from this property. House is infested with cockroaches and ants, and host is just a horrible person. We found a cockroach on the pillow where we were supposed to sleep when we came in… (see pictures) Host was very aware of the issue, they even had traps in the closet already (unopened, they just had them there because they knew we will likely need them). We found 10+ cockroaches during our 1 week stay. And more ants than you can imagine. We reached out to the host but they were completely unhelpful. They basically told us it is what it is, figure it out on your own. Not that it matters compared to cockroaches…, but house is also in a very bad shape. Pictures on the website are old in my view. Floor was filthy as well, had to wear shoes the entire time… very unfortunate experience and worst stay we’ve done in a very long time. They wouldn’t do anything, so we filed a complaint with Booking.com. After we provided proof, Booking sent them a request for a refund which they declined. And literally few hours later they filed a bogus request for “damages” for some plastic in the pool… luckily I took photos of everything on day 1 seeing the shape of things, and that broken plastic is visible on them, together with an underwater pool light that was falling out of the wall (how is this safe???). Anyway, many great properties in Madeira, save yourself the trouble and stay away from “Villa Sea View”, unless you want to hang out with cockroaches... UPDATE Aug 4: Property responded below, saying I provided no proof of the situation... everything they wrote is a complete lie. We shared photos with them and with Booking. Booking allowed us to edit this review as a response to the property to prove that what they are saying is a complete lie. The house is very comfortable and has a wonderful view. It is nicely decorated and furnished. There is really everything you might need. The location is great although one should be a good driver to be comfortable parking in the garage.

For more comfort, we would have appreciated having access to a washing machine during our stay.
