The Hut

Very cosy, everything you needed for a short stay.

So peaceful and the fire pit was AMAZING (we took firefighters and a lighter to aid lighting it), Adam couldn’t be more helpful, and on our last night we met lovely Bella 🐶 who is so much fun! Also blankets to use by the fire was a lovely touch. We took our Cadac 🍖 and cooked outside the first 2 nights then ate out on our third night. There is a mirror hung up in the bathroom and a long one in the bedroom/living area, as a lot of people mentioned that in earlier reviews. Overall a lovely relaxing stay (and we had dry weather so we sat outside every evening watching the sunset 🌅) there is a bench you can sit on and a big log (we took our two big camping bucket chairs which go with us everywhere to relax in at night) Would go again as location is also perfect!! So many walks and close to forest of Dean bike park

We found the double bed quite small for us but very comfortable (its probably because we’re used to a king size though) 😂 Also just a heads up it’s a small drinks fridge (incase you buy too much cold food- although Adam kindly offered us to use his fridge) 😊 Overall it’s a lovely place for a short break.

The firepit was an excellent bonus and made the evening pleasurable.

Cute little building from the outside. I liked the view to the church across the field. Appreciated the night lights outside to guide from the parking space to the door. Pleased to see the owner had read and acted on most of the feedback points. The heater was very quick at heating the space as it was a chilly night during my stay. Plenty of cleaning products, towels etc. Allowed me to check in 45 minutes earlier. Generally ok.

Some areas were quite tired looking and the finishing in places was a bit untidy, agreed with another guest that handles on the kitchen cupboard doors would be useful. I get the feeling the owners must be very busy people, that said, a more in depth clean would be good ( light sockets were particularly bad, taps and kitchen sink was a bit dirty) Was disappointed when I arrived that no one was there to let me in, perhaps a message to advise of that .
