Kura Kura Beach House

Great staff - really helpful! Nice property but needs a lot of maintenance. A bit isolated but nice once there. Lots of space , great garden & pool.

Location a bit far away.

We were disappointed to discover this villa is in Munggu, not Canggu itself. Canggu is actually about 25 minutes away by car (we don't ride scooters). Overall, the price is just too high for the experience. We felt the location was isolated and not attractive. There are a few cafes in Seseh Street 5-10 minutes walk away, but not much. Whilst we like a quiet holiday, this was too much isolation. Apart from the on-site pool, there is really nothing to do without travelling elsewhere and no surrounding beauty or interesting places to walk. There is a beachside warung next door, however, the food and service were well below average. The beach is not pretty, and it's also not safe for swimming or paddling - Wild waves, currents, and rips. No body walks on the beach. It is just very desolate and dirty. There are 3 bedrooms, however at least two of them are in need of renovation/improvement. The whole place is a bit run down. Our son's bedroom downstairs had an unpleasant odour. ... Maybe mildew, not sure. On a positive note, the villa manager Kadek is nice and attentive, and the pool and deck are beautiful. We had been looking forward to staying here based on the photos and reviews, but once we had settled in we and looked around, we were disappointed with our choice for our last two nights in Bali. This villa was a splurge for us however it was not worth it.

Booked as a wedding gift for my mate and his Mrs - those two, my Mrs and I stayed in Feb. Absolutely amazing place, actually undersold by the pics it's a lot bigger! We booked the whole lot out and it was ridiculously good value. Kadek was lovely, looked after us but unintrusive. All the facilities are cleaned, looked after and the venue itself is stunning - loads of space, natural vibes and so secluded. Cannot recommend enough if you want something beautiful and a bit more secluded away from your Kuta / Seminyak noise. Still within a reasonable distance obviously but far enough away to feel like you're on a retreat

Location. Friendly staff. Comfortable. Big enough so my children had their own rooms.

Everything was perfect, clean and we were able to check in 24h that made it easy to arrive at 3am after a party.

Kura Kura Beach House is an amazing example of mid century Java architecture that has been transported to Bali, reconstructed and augmented with Balinese style ablutions (outdoor showers etc). There is a wonderful infinity pool nestled in tropical gardens that kids and adults alike will love. Kadek, the property manager/ housekeeper is lovely and is definitely the highlight of the experience. While the condition of the infrastructure is deteriorating (commensurate with the property’s age), Kura Kura Beach House a beautiful rustic experience and great value for money.

Some minor issues with doors sticking but this was probably associated with the rainy season and the house and doors being made mostly of timber that expands in moisture conditions. While transport was readily available via private driver or Grab etc, having our own transport would have made the experience better, noting the property is some way from central Canggu.

Everthing was great and Kadek and other staff were excellent. It is not far to Canggu centre and there are nice cafes, massage salons, money exchange and laundry nearby. It is a nice quiet neighbourhood too.

The bottom room near the entrance requires permanent solution for water egress due to rain.
