"Nice stay at Copper cottage but the little down side things don't make it feel like a home from home"

7.0

The location makes it convenient to walk to local beaches or travel east and west. Easy to find as host supplied good instructions, It's a cottage so not loads of space, 5-6 people would make it crowded, plenty of hot water, nice shower but one wc is a disadvantage. The beds are nice and comfortable, choose a front bedroom if you like blackout curtains.

Using the cooker/oven is a learning prosses as there's no instructions, similar with the tv unless your used to subscription channels or streaming services. It feels like a game of hide and seek with items in the cupboard under the sink. Crockery and utensils ok but not one large bowl to toss a mixed salad in, that would be useful as would large trays to carry food to and from the kitchen. The poor internet connection was irritating even with a wifi that works. Not possible to open all the bedroom windows.

"A perfect and charming retreat!"

9.0

Wonderful place to stay, wish we could have stayed longer. We were just two of us, and thought it was so well equiped and layed out. The position is so walkable to the adorable harbour, with all its wonderful eateries and bars and country walks. You really can just leave the car behind! Lovely sun benches in the summer house and we met some very friendly folk around too.

It didn't bother us as we didn't need to phone, but the reception around Charlestown is bad. The wifi in the cottage is exellent though. There were all the main large supermarkets in St Austin, but not even even a newsagent in Charlestown, but it didn't bother us as we came fully loaded and eat out most days anyway. Oh one last funny thing, I was awoken early most mornings due to geese wandering around in the front - very charming - and if you keep the window shut you cannot hear them. Perfect alarm clocks and they are very beautiful!
