The Old Bakery

Felt like home-from-home. Cosy. Well equipped kitchen. Lovely view of garden from bedroom. The story of the Bakery's history was fascinating. Great location for shops, restaurants & pubs, and for exploring the island.

The patio doors from the bedroom need some work to make them open & close smoothly

Excellent, central location with quick route into the main shopping street. Good info pack helps settling in. Very quiet and spacious, with nice rear garden for quiet contemplation and sitting out. Fascinating history which wraps around the thoughtful occupier.

Nothing significant. Took a bit to get the hot water warm enough, but fine after that. Bedside lights were a bit wobbly, but that felt like "good quirky".

Location, central but very quiet. Comfortable beds. Surprisingly spacious. 11 o'clock checkout time. Owner sorted problem re cleaner within minutes despite not being in the Channel Islands himself and quickly compensated us for inconvenience. We expected it to be 'simple' so most things were fine. Alderney itself is stunning and interesting.

6 o'clock check in time. The floors are tiled throughout but there are no rugs in the bedroom so the floor is really cold. The bathroom is more than 'tired'.
