Double bed Studio in Finchley,North London

When I arrived I was unable to get through the padlock on the gate to the entrance to the flat. It was dark and the property is down a lane to the side of a house. I was travelling on my own. To try and put the code in to get the padlock open,I had to prop up my phone with its torch with my upper body while I put the code. I tried a number of different ways but the code would not work. I called the owner, she refused to accept that I had tried the code and it was not working. She said she could not help as she was 40 mins away, I had to plead with her to get someone to come. Eventually she called a neighbour who came but he was also not able to get the code to work. He called his wife and she tried and figured out three very small holes on the side of the lock were where the code was to be lined up. I had tried this but I couldn't see the numbers and her husband agreed that they were not clearly visible. I eventually got in and the place was freezing. I turned on the heating and an hour and a half later I was still in my coat and hat as the place was still very cold. I called the host and she was unsympathetic...give it more time I was advised. She blamed me for arriving in the evening. I told her that it would be expected that a place booked would be warm on arrival, not having to wait hours for it to heat up. There was no acknowledgement about how uncomfortable I was. I was veery unhappy that I had to endure this having paid a significant amount for the night. It was clear that the place is not insulated and everything was extremely cold, the walls, the bed and the floor. It felt damp like there had been no heating on for some time. After two and a half hours the room temperature was more comfortable, but what I had to endure was unacceptable and I was treated with utter indifference by the host.I had some work to complete online but the wifi would not connect and I also wanted to store food in the fridge, but it was too dirty. Avoid this place at all costs.

Finchley is a nice place to stay, a getaway from the crowds in the center of London. The ketcher was equipped well enoygh to Cook. Easy to access. Nice staff.

No hot water except from the douche. It would nice with two bedsheets than just one.

The bedding and towels were not the ones you see in the pictures, they were very old and worn ones. The room was cold and it felt like the building has significant chunks of time where no heating is on. The bedding was so cold it felt like it was damp, still not sure. We ended up putting everything in the dryer to warm it up but we still didn't feel comfortable staying the night there. We ended up checking out around midnight and went to a hotel. Spare yourselves the trouble and pay 50 pounds extra for a hotel.

Excellent location for our purposes; lovely accommodating hosts; responded quickly when there were issues

No comfortable places to relax (comfortable chairs), no microwave or minimal basic essentials like cleaning and eating materials. No guide to how to get things working, when it wasn’t obvious.

Self contained. Arrangements worked

Slightly under resourced in the kitchen. Smelly candles made us sneeze

The accommodation and facilities are of a good standard. The hosts were responsive, and the wifi worked fine. Was what I needed for the weekend.

Just suggestions to make it even better: Put a light just above the gate to see the lock clearly at nights. Was able to cook with the one burner provided hope the hob is now working.
