It's a lovely studio extension to a main home with independent access. Lovely interior, large bed, great shower. Be prepared for a reasonable walk to town, which we didn't mind. Wanaka is a lovely town with a beautiful lake.

Beautiful and clean room. Modern design and comfy soft bed. Bathroom was clean and sleek.

On the advertisement it states a “guest house” and “unit” but it’s just the master bedroom of a family home with a side personal entrance. Felt uncomfortable as we heard the owners (clanking dishes, coughing, footsteps) through the walls while we were there. If it was advertised as renting a room then that would be fine but my partner and I assumed it was a unit behind the house as we did see if was labelled as “place to yourself” which isn’t true. Felt deceived and paid a hefty price for one night in a family home.
