The Chillhouse Canggu by BVR Bali Holiday Rentals

Loved the location, walkable to many nearby stores and cafes, and navigable by many Grab and GoJek drivers. The property manager gave us a free villa upgrade when the bathroom of the original booking we made was too open for my friend and me. We were skeptical because it was dengue season and there were too many mosquitos in the outdoor bathroom. The free villa upgrade was amazing cause she gave it to us at the same price and gave us complimentary treats.

This was definitely a short-term villa to stay in, property had its own cafe which was so convenient for breakfast and what not. The bathroom design isn't great for those who aren't used to mosquitos and some unexpected outdoor guests haha but the room itself was spacious and clean, beds were also tidy with a mosquito net. Value for money for sure.

Nothing maybe only the receptionist isn’t available 24/7 and there is. No sound cancellation between rooms so I was listening to a girl crying in the room next to me for 2 days but thankfully it wasn’t for long

The place is nothing like the pictures. very dirty not well kept. the reception area is the worst and it's down the block from the rooms. Pool was dirty ants everywhere in the bathroom.

The property is a bit run down however it’s quiet and the staff were amazing

Looked tired and run down especially the entrance and the front pool wasn’t clean there is a lovely back pool which was great … the rooms have no fridge and smelt musty

A quiet hotel with two pools which we often had to ourselves. Lovely plants and butterflies. Friendly staff and great breakfast. Good restaurants nearby and not too far to walk to beach.

Perfect if you want to stay in Canggu but away from the busy downtown area. About 40 mins walk to the beach - but very doable and lots of shops and cafes to stop off at along the way. Pool was lovely. Stayed 2 nights after arriving on an international flight. We both had a fantastic Balinese massage with Echo. It was so good we both booked in for another one the following day. Very good value compared to other places. The coffee shop has oat and almond milk with was a bonus and the coffee ☕ was fab 👌 The second morning I got the Bali coffee and paid for hot almond milk on the side and it went really well mixed with small amounts of the Balinese coffee at a time - it is quite strong on its own 😜

Suggestion: offer a vegan breakfast. Currently if you pay in advance for breakfast you get the choice of American or Indonesian (which is veggie & can be made vegan). Vegan option was the American without bacon, egg, sausage which doesn't seem right. Or option to substitute for Avocado on toast but then you don't get the orange juice or fruit platter so also doesn't seem right.
