Orchard retreat off grid shepherds huts in Dorset

- Loved the location - The shepherd hut was roomier than we expected and felt warm and welcoming - The complimentary bottle of milk & duck eggs were a lovely surprise, along with a bottle of their sparkling cider. - We appreciated that they’d already got the burner for the hot tub going well in advance of our arrival. - Nice arrangement going on regards to purchasing their own produce too, we took a dozen eggs and a shoulder of pork home and they were exceptional. The pizzas they cooked us on our first night were great and went down a treat with a few pints of their cider. - The pig’s were a great and very friendly - In all had a lovely weekend full of great memories to hold on to.

We stayed for two nights in the beautiful orchard. Waking up to the view of the long orchard was breathtaking even though the weather wasn’t the best. Nevertheless we made good use of the hotub which was the perfect size. If you’re saying over the weekend then there is pizza in the bar/barn. which was delicious possibly the best pizza I’ve had. Close to a local pub named the greyhound inn for convenience. We had an amazing time. I recommend 10/10

The owners were welcoming and friendly. It was comfortable and in beautiful surroundings, with really stunning views! Being able to walk around the property and see the animals was great. They also sold amazing fresh produce!

The composting toulet takes a bit of getting used to 😂

A great place to unwind. Located in an orchard, the aspect is stunning gazing up at the rows of trees heading off in the distance. We opted for the cider tour and Hannah gave us a detailed explanation of how it started and the processes involved into making the cider. The tour finished at the barn where samples were taken and thoroughly enjoyed. Dan, the host, then welcomed us and spent an entertaining evening consuming some excellent cider. The Shepherds hut was very comfortable and had all the home comforts provided. There was also a private hot tub assigned to the hut, this was great fun and a lovely way to unwind. The location is great and many walks are available from here including a visit to see the giant at Cerne Abbas.

I really enjoyed it. The hut is tucked away so you don't have people walking past. It's also in the middle of the countryside so there isn't much noise from traffic going past. A nice romantic getaway for the weekend. We also did the cider tour that they offer where you get to try all the stuff they make on the orchard which was really good. Hannah was really good and knew her stuff and answered all the questions we had around the orchard and cider making process. It was cloudy with a bit of rain but we still had a good time and are planning to go back in the summer when all the apple trees have fruit. 10/10 thanks again also if you enjoy looking at stars the orchard is great for that.
