Sunny Windsor Apartment in Kalk Bay

This apartment is tastefully decorated and beautifully restored (very well laid out), without losing the building's sense of history. A street block from the ocean, close to Kalk Bay's main drag for restaurants, shops and art galleries. Loved the large sash windows, beautiful northern sunlight during the day (we were there in winter). Well designed kitchen, but since there are such excellent restaurants and bakeries around, we hardly ever cooked for ourselves. Compact bathroom, but an excellent rain shower - a joy in the morning. Bookshelf with interesting reading material, from classical thrillers (Forsyth) to modern South African non-fiction (e.g. Antjie Krog's "A change of tongue"). Check-in and check-out (early flight) super easy.

We were worried about the lack of reserved parking, but it worked out fine. We found a spot very close to the apartment each time and it was easy to offload luggage. This will be our spot in Kalk Bay from now on (whenever available).

Nothing to complain about! Maybe the struggle to get my luggage up and down...but then, I had a lot of luggage with me! This might be a struggle for somebody with mobility issues.

Excellent location, beautifully furnished, and spotlessly clean. Note that access to this apartment involves stairs, so would not be suitable for persons with mobility impairments.

Central location. Old apartment modernised tastefully and equipped with modern fittings and appliances. Quiet despite being 30 m from shops, cafes and restaurants

The location was the best part of staying here. Just a stroll down the road to all the restaurants and shops. Close to the tidal pools and beach. We also had a great view of the harbour from our window.

We would have appreciated a clothing drying rack. We visited the beach often and getting back home we needed to hang our costumes, towels, etc. I also think since we stayed for a whole week, a washing machine would be more useful than a dishwasher.

Location is excellent in Kalk Bay.
