Never stay a this hotel, it will ruin your experience. Holbox is an amazing island that has a lot to offer, but staying at this hotel spoiled our stay. Extremely noisy. The level of street noise was very disruptive, it almost felt as if we were sleeping outside. We were never able to get a good night’s sleep. The bathroom was smelly when we first arrived and on the last night we found 2 cockroaches also in the bathroom. The bioluminescence tour offered at the hotel was more expensive than other similar tours offered in town, and the reception staff provided us with poor restaurant recommendations. For the most part expensive places with unsatisfactory food. We asked other local people who directed us to several amazing food places with great local dishes. Overall a very unpleasant hotel experience.

Really clean and quiet

This is a very unique property. The rooms are fashioned as bungalows, so wooden on the inside as well as the outside. The beds are very comfortable, the walk-in shower was great with lots of hot water. A large pool is the centerpiece of the property with lots of palms, philodendron and other tropical plantings complete the landscaping. Hamacas are also strung between the trees for rest and relaxation, as well as lounge chairs at either end of the pool. The only negative, which is no fault of Coconut Ool, is that because the island only has sand streets golf carts and very loud ATVs and side-by-sides serve as taxis. They are allowed to run the roads 24/7 even though the island touts its eco-friendly nature. This being said, we heard the ATV noise. We would recommend, if you have any trouble sleeping, to bring noise canceling headphones, earplugs, and/or some type of white noise. Other than the ATVs, this is a very charming and unique place with a "tree house" type of vibe! ❤️

Hard review to give. The hotel cabanas themselves is really nice. Great pool, super clean, very comfortable beds, pillows, friendly staff. But.. its all made of timber which is also charming and terrible at noise isolation. Although holbox has no cars the 4x4 cart taxis are noisier than cars and they go alllll night. You feel like you are in the middle of a racetrack. Then there is always people nearby having post 3am drinks loudly. Like you feel theyare in your room but they are not even on the same property. Its a pity coz l loved it otherwise. Also not sure why but all units downstairs get not chsirs and table on balcony but all upstairs units get 2 chairs and a table. Go figure!
