The Gallery at Ryedale House

Gorgeous apartment, very spacious with a great view, good location just a few minutes from the Shambles area. We got very detailed instructions to check in, and the host was quick to respond to any questions.

Lovely layout, one en-suite bathroom, new and clean. Office nook for when I had to work.

Location good, easy walk in to York. View over city walls was a bonus. Apartment was clean, tidy and well appointed.

The view was beautiful and the bath was nice and deep.

Extremely disappointed that the pigeon nesting on the balcony wasn’t stated before booking the apartment. I am pregnant and highly advised to stay away from birds and their poo meaning I couldn’t even enjoy the fresh morning air with a cup of tea on the balcony with my partner also due to the amount of pigeon poo on both chairs. We have stayed in another apartment in this complex “Four Zero Six” previously for less of the price, over a weekend and the decor and facilities were miles ahead of this apartment. At our last apartment we had received a luxurious gift hamper on arrival (here, we received a paper bag with tea bags, 2 sachets of milk, 4 sugar sachets and a 2 pack of biscuits). We also had TVs in all of the bedrooms in the previous apartment, we only had a tv in the living room in this one. Me and my partner like to wind down in bed and watch a film in bed before we go to sleep. We also didn’t have access to the car park with apartment 403 not like the last one. This was also not stated clearly on the booking page. The car park was a 5-10 minute walk. That’s a long way when you have bags to carry while pregnant in the pouring rain. My partner had been working 4 weeks none stop without a day off and traveled 5 and a half hours to York because this is where we decided to find out the gender of our baby. So turning up at the apartment in these circumstances set the tone for our time there! When contacting booking.com/the apartment, I was met with apologies for not being able to move the pigeons due to the law against nesting birds, however my point in all of this was that it was never stated before purchasing and I feel as though I have been blind sighted into booking an apartment with assets I believed it to have but could not use on arrival. Extremely disappointed with the apartment, the response and over all experience.

Glassware in the kitchen wasn't cleaned so well - only complaint
