Location was great. Apartment has potential, but more consideration of the customer experience would go a long way. If you're going to take a bite out of the local affordable housing market - at least offer an experience on par or better than the average Holiday Inn Express.

Short term rentals need to bring value. Value can be driven by attention to these three characteristics: 1. Safety 2. Bed Quality/Comfort 3. Hot Shower. Two of the three are missing here: The beds were about half a step up from a camping cot. Investing in real bedframes with supportive slats beneath the mattresses and at least entry level IKEA mattresses would make a world of improvements. More, softer pillows and some mid-range duvets and sheets would be appreciated here. I can literally sleep on a frozen slab of ice in the Canadian wilderness and feel rested - the beds in this establishment left much to be desired. If you're going to complete with hotels - take some tips from the hotel bed experience. Luxury is not needed, but basic comfort is the bare minimum. The rental shares a water heater with the other units in the building - resulting in lukewarm shower experiences. I texted about the shower temp - they offered to send a repair man. I don't need your repair person on my short weekend trip, you know darn well how the hot water in your property is configured, upgrade it. The bathroom was a confusing low budget flip. The large off-white toilet was not a consistent flush. The shower was enraging. Very, very tiny fiberglass coffin design - felt like a shower on a boat. Re-invest some of the property earnings into creating a comfortable sized shower and fix the plumbing (the hot was cold, the cold was hot), add a dedicated water heater for the shower. There's so much real estate in the bathroom - a lot could be done to make the primary reason anyone books a short term rental (to have a comoforable place to shower) could make an "eh" rental into an epic weekend of relaxatiofor all parties involved. If I'm going to spend the money to not sleep in my car - at least provide a comofortable bed and a reliable hot shower. FInally - dust the ceiling fans! A $135 cleaning fee should merit a top to bottom swiffering before each guest.

The location was perfect, close to the university where I was attending a conference at. The train station is a 5-min walk away, it goes directly to the airport. The bakery close by was a great spot for breakfast and the occasional dessert. It was great for a few nights, clean and much better priced than a hotel and with the added possibility to cook if needed. Host communication was great, they sent all relevant info in advance; they clearly cared about us having a great time while there.

If I wanted to be picky, it would have been nice to have a couple of hangers in the bathroom for the bath sheets so they can hang after use.

Location was great. The place was clean. The toiletries were a nice touch. Brett was easy to communicate with. Plenty of towels provided. The air conditioning in the bedroom works great. Having some basic condiments and spices was very helpful. Plenty of cooking utensils.

Parking is a HUGE hassle. There is no way to park in the driveway without being blocked or blocking someone else. So be prepared to park on the street half up on the sidewalk if you can find a spot. The sheets on the king bed were NOT clean, smelled bad. I had to change them when we arrived. The mattress was very thin and uncomfortable. I did not get a decent night's rest during the weekend. I would recommend the owner invest in a real mattress,

The property has all the things you need to stay comfortably. Easy access to university campus and stores. You can walk right out for a great breakfast or lunch at the Presti's Bakery & Cafe.

The shower stand could be a little bigger.
