The Blue Shutter Guest House

The Blue Shutter Guesthouse is an absolute gem. The rooms are spotless, comfortable, and full of charm, while the hosts make you feel instantly welcome. The location is perfect for exploring the area. I couldn’t have asked for a better stay – truly faultless from start to finish.

My only slight negative is there didn’t seem to be anywhere to unpack clothes to.

Excellent location. We also really appreciated the room upgrade. Blue Shutter is well looked after and although it's just a road up from the main town- its quiet and peaceful.

A few shelves or a cupboard for clothes would be a good idea

The location- The guest house is easily accessible and close to a lot of amenities. The guest house- The place was very clean and aesthetically pleasing, the pictures honestly don’t do it justice. The host- Our host Charmaine is a very good host who made us feel right at home. She also recommended some of the local places we can try in the area which we all thoroughly enjoyed.

We didn’t get to experience the whole place as there was a private function in the main house, however Charmaine was kind enough to communicate that to us before we arrived. The room we got was beautiful and the bed very comfortable however, I was not comfortable with the toilet/ bathroom that was literally by the bed side with no wall separating the bathroom/ toilet and the bedroom. I’d prefer a different room next time.

No plug for the hairdryer. One room has the toilet right in the room. You need to be aware of that

The decor was amazing. Bed and shower great. Full kitchen, braai area, gym, swimming pool everything. Hosts are very nice people.

Rooms are luxurious and tastefully decorated and feel like a five star hotel room. All amenities are provided like an in room coffee station even bottled water, a cooldrink and a chocolate. There is a pool and a gym on the property. It’s located on a quiet street, walking distance from the main street where all the shops and restaurants are. We were welcomed by the friendly owners who communicated with us throughout the time from booking and aftercare. We had a great stay and will definitely book here again.

We had a wonderful quiet stay but I am afraid that it could get noisy when all the rooms are booked. We only had one other couple staying and we could hear them around the house even when they tried to be as quiet as possible.
