It’s a character property with quirky bedrooms. Public bar is relaxing with open fire and restaurant food is excellent.

Carrying luggage up narrow stairs is challenging. Rooms can be a little cold, but some additional heaters are available. Plumbing is a bit dodgy.

The signature room is looking tired. Blocked sink. No candles in wall sconces. Only one small bottle of water. Nothing to add to the twin baths. Holes in walls next to sink. Soap holder missing. Air freshener empty but still plugged in which is a fire hazard.

Very friendly, price very good, food was lovely, bed very comfortable

Loved the quirky vibe of the place. Room 1 that we stayed in was a good size and comfortable mattress with clean bedding. No pillow protecters and I didn’t like that. Room needs a deep clean, floors dirty, light fixture/ lamps full of dust. Claw feet for bath on one side was full of dust and skin particles. One bottle of water per room when double room and 2 guest sane with coffee bags. Shower was clean as was toilet, hand basin wobbled when used. Good black out curtains. One radiator didn’t work. Rooms in need of a painting as stained walls especially in toilet. Unfortunately we didn’t enjoy main restaurant food had to send back, however breakfast was lovely and well cooked. Really nice friendly staff. Just a few little niggles that need sorting but I would stay again… also from price point of view.
