Nelly's Coastal Family House

The cottage is located in the picturesque and secluded village of Plakes. The doors open on to one of the many hiking paths in Hydra. The deck is where we spent most of our time with a glass of wine and a spectacular sunset. A stone’s throw away was Tassina’s Tavern which is part of the Bellavia hotel. The food was excellent. If you meander ten minutes along the path you’ll find the village of Vlychos with more restaurants. We preferred Enalion. Both places have excellent beaches. The kitchen in the cottage was fully equipped for self catering if that’s what interests you. Hydra town was a breathtaking 30 minute walk away with gorgeous views. If you’re not a walker, small ferry taxis can take you to and from hourly or you can even book a private water taxi. We appreciated the calm of the cottage.

Nellys coastal home was fantastic, the home was very clean and neat with an incredible view of the ocean and the mountains. It had all we needed to cook some light meals at home or whip up a greek frappe. We just loved the location outside the port and the sunsets were out of this world.

We had a fantastic stay! Everything was perfect, and the location was just amazing—very close to the sea and the beach. The view from the terrace was amazing, and the apartment was equipped with all the necessary items. It was also incredibly clean, which made the experience even better. There were also two dining spots nearby (one close to the Plakes Beach and Four Seasons apartments second - Taverna Marina - bit further in the town direction). The sunsets at Taverna Marina were absolutely stunning. Additionally, there was a wonderful walking trail to the town of Hydra, even after dark. Highly recommend!

The place can be summed up as being perfectly Zen, complete with modest luxury. To start with, the large terrace overlooking small islands and the mainland was a wonderful place to see magical sunsets. Paired with a quaint pebble beach, this was the backdrop for an incredible island hideaway.

Location

Lovely spot on the island, next to the Taverna Tassia, close enough (10-15min) to Taverna Marina. A few steps to the sea. Nice terrace and beautiful sunset views!

Not sure which bed was meant to be a double bed, there is one of 120cm which is certainly rather slim for 2, and two single beds. Not sure how to fit 4p in total, only if kids. Sure, it's Hydra price range, but still all in all, the price is rather high for what it is, including old appliances.

localisation was perfetto, owner was very helpful, breakfast in the fritch and coffee was nice serprice for me

In the kitchen there was no bigger knife to cut the bread.

Quiet location away from the town. Private terrace , nicely shaded with a great sea view. Plenty of space for two. Peaceful with horses, sheep roaming around. Right on the beach.

Double bed was less than double. Water pressure very very low! With high wind you will be stranded. We had to carry large shopping back to the house when boats were stopped 😅.
