Coco Huts Guest House

Alright - this is absolutely a dream come true. The Bungalows are simple but view is stunning. Overall, it is amazing to be on this island which basically feels like it's all for yourself. Usually there are not many guests, so this place is perfect to unplug from reality. There is sand/soil pretty much everywhere on this side of the island so expect to be bare foot the whole time. The location is perfect for Wayag which is definitely worth a visit (do Wayag, not Piaynemo, if you have to choose). Also the staff will pick up coconuts for you directly from the palms, if you ask them. Special mention for the food. Always good!

We had some issues at the beginning of the stay as nobody welcomed us and it was hard to understand anything about the organization of the homestay. This was mainly because the hosting family did not speak English and the communication with the owner/manager (not on the island) was difficult. I must say, though, that the experience after 3 days of stay was great. It would be a full score if the communication/organization of the stay were smoother.

Great place. On a fairly remote island, very quiet and beautiful location with a nice sunset view (there are two more homestays on the other side of the island, less fascinating than coco hut). Two hours from Waisai (the boat trip well arranged by the homestay is nice in itself) and two and a half hours from the absolutely amazing Wayag (weather permitting - they arrange a trip with their local boats at a fair price). Trips to nearby islands to snorkel, manta spots and great sandbank's sunset are also available (Vince can help you arrange them). The bungalows are comfortable and with a nice view (perhaps hammocks could be better fixed and an additional chair added on the deck for further improvement). The food is very good, the hosts and staff provide great service and the shared bathroom is good (when compared to other homestays in the area) and always kept clean. Great value.

It was absolutely great! The family was amazing! They were so kind, nice and helpful. Vence, Oscar, Rio and all the rest did their best to make us comfortable. It is a veey peaceful island. The beach front bungalows were basic (Raja Ampat style homestay) but very comfortable and clean. The view from the bungalows was amazing, also wonderful sunset. The shared bathroom and toilet was always clean. Family always keep the homestay very clean. The food was great. We had different varieties and even snacks in the afternoon. They always put hot water for our tea and coffee all day. Vence speaks pretty good English and he helped us a lot for our tours. We picked here since it is closer to Wayag so we did Wayag tour with them and it was amazing! We also did snorkel tours where we saw manta too :) We absolutely recommend here to stay to go to Wayag (it takes 2 hours to go there from here).

Coco is basic, but comfortable. This is the place to stay before hiring a log boat to the beautiful Wajag archipelago. The postcard image of Raja Ampat. Coco also has an excellent English speaking guide, who acts as an interpreter and organiser when deciding where to go. The house reef is excellent and don't forget to visit the villages on the surrounding islands. They are very interesting.

The Place is fantastic. A bit off the beaten Track. Rio and her husband manage the place very well - lovely Family. Great food. Sweet Kids :) The food was amazing, the house reef is great as well. Nice excursions with Vence to Wayag or nearby manta point and smaller islands also aroud with spectactular reefs and coral gardens. Pianemo also close. The trip to Wayag is close(r) to do from here, so you might have enough time to enjoy Wayag. The homestay has shared bathroom which is spotlessly clean, the traditional bungalows overlook the sea with fantastic sunsets. A well recoomended place to spend more then 2 or 3 nights.

Beautiful location on the beach of a small Island. Food Is good and the People are friendly.

This is a ocean front property with sunset views! The best is large and comfy. The family are absolutely lovely and will do anything to help you! The food is delicious and so fresh. We did a snorkelling trip with the family to an incredible reef and sand bar. Highly recommend!

No scuba diving as nearest dive shops aren’t willing to pick you up. If you’re looking to dive around here there is a very limited. So ensure to do your research!

This is the absolute best experience of our month long trip to Raja Ampat, everything, cleanliness, size of showers, food 3 times a day and very tasty, in the afternoon they gave us fried cakes with bananas- everything is perfect. The family is amazing, friendly and lives nearby, so we almost felt like part of their family. There are only a few local families living on this island and there are only a few homestay's. This is a new homestay, so there are very few tourists in this unique paradise island. Amazing beach for swimming only 10 minutes from the house, breathtaking house reef, sunsets out of this world There are no mosquitoes or sand fleas. . Come and stay in this paradise and experience the real life of the locals! They very professionally organize trips to Wayang, it's only 2 hours away from this island. Doesn't speak English, but they calls his cousin and he helps to communicate if you need anything.

Absolutely nothing - everything is perfect

We had a really special time at the Coco Huts homestay. The family put a lot of heart and effort into making our stay a great experience. Everyone was very kind and welcoming. Delicious and varied food, clean bathroom facilities (water containers were constantly replenished), great ocean view from the bungalow. The host took us on a number of trips, including a trip to Wayag, which were really well-organized, and we felt super safe on the boat as well as snorkeling with a local guide (the reefs in the area are amazing). The transfer back to Waisai was well-organized as well. If you’re looking for a quiet get-away from the more crowded areas like Piaynemo, this is definitely a good choice.
