Iconic Italian Townhouse w Rooftop Terrace & Mountain View, Pigna

Wir waren hingerissen von diesem charmanten Stadthaus. Es wurde bestmöglich renoviert, absolut umwerfend ist natürlich die Dachterrasse . Das Schlafzimmer im Erdgeschoss ist logischerweise etwas dunkel, das Bad winzig . Aber die Terrasse mit dem Blick in die Berge gleicht alles aus.

Die Duschhalterung könnte erneuert werden.

Juste un conseil pour les personnes à mobilité réduite: maison sur 4 niveaux avec marches d’escalier hautes, cette maison n’est pas pour vous.

This house is unique! And we found all we needed in the house. Comfortable beds, a lovely kitchen, and the terasse with views of the mountains. We did some great hiking and had a swim in one of the natural pools. The bar at the piazza by the church is were the locals meet for an aperitivo around 7pm. We went there every day. We highly recommend this house!!! And Pigna. And we will be back, for sure!

The really excellent air-conditioned, cafe, bar, patisserie, Desir de Roy down below which provided refuge from an uncomfortable stay!

I cannot see how a couple of reviewers could possibly give this property 10/10. Started with no response from the owner for the four days prior to arrival. booking.com also could not contact the owner, we thought it must be a scam - the only reason we made a decision to travel some distance was booking.com offering substitute accommodation should we not gain access. The owner called just as we were leaving, though apologetic, a stressful and time wasting start to our holiday. Arrival in the the house confronts you with a flight of stairs that require mountaineering skills to negotiate, not fun getting to the upstairs rooms carrying stuff. House is quite dark, perhaps to be expected in an ancient townhouse, renovated to a decent standard but none too recently! The bedroom is simple, the bed quite uncomfortable. Ensuite bathroom very basic and small - suggest helmet to get into tiny the loo area at night - shower type that's small, with plastic curtain that sticks to you! Weird first floor seems a waste of space, I doubt anyone would use the sofa to relax or sleep on due to lack of privacy. Top floors including terrace and kitchen below, were simply too hot for comfort during the day (in August!). No a/c or fan. We cooled down in the excellent air-conditioned Desir de Roy (which gets 5 stars+!). Telly archaic, DVDs in assorted languages were all it worked for, keypad had no batteries. Lack of internet seems an omission for what we were paying. No information in the house about locality, places of interest etc. A map showing where everything is would also have been incredibly helpful too, difficult to know where shops etc are located. We departed early, house simply not suitable in the hot season in its present state, the long standing owner must be perfectly aware of this. We're pretty disappointed, and with the minimum three day stay this wasn't cheap! Our 4/10 I believe fairly generously reflects all that we have said.
