Dab Hotel Ulus

The staff were friendly and proactive. They helped with our bags and parking. The room was big and clean, and we enjoyed it there.

The WiFi was a problem on our floor and didn't really work. We struggled to find good restaurants nearby.

Location and breakfast

- The hotel’s reception staff were consistently warm, welcoming, and polite, always ready to assist. Since the team changed at least once a day, this appeared to be a shared standard of service rather than an individual trait. - The hotel is located very close to the center of Ulus

We were assigned to room 301, where we spent 5 nights. There were three aspects I did not like: 1) upon arrival, it was immediately clear that the bed sheets and the duvet cover had not been changed after the previous guest - there were visible stains and stray hairs, which were extremely unpleasant. I contacted reception and requested housekeeping. A staff member came and replaced the sheets, though she was initially reluctant to change the duvet cover, insisting the stains were permanent and blaming the hotel’s industrial laundry service. However, the replacement sheets and duvet cover looked and smelled clean and were free of stains. 2) Our room had a balcony, which I initially appreciated but quickly came to regret. Most of the neighboring balconies were used for smoking, and the cigarette smell frequently drifted onto ours and into the room, making it quite uncomfortable. 3) The breakfast was very disappointing - limited in variety and quality, and far below what one would typically expect from Turkish hospitality. While the breakfast was included in our booking fee, we only used it on the first morning, I could not put myself through that misery more than once

We were able to check in earlier after a night flight, which was really helpful

The floor in the room was not very clean (arguably, because the staff didn't have time to clean it properly due to an early check-in)

Very nice and helpful staff, helped us with finding the nearby parking lot that costs 6 euros per night. The hotel is located quite close to the old town of Ankara and is surrounded by many restaurants. The room was spacious and cozy.

The neighborhood where it is located gets quite shady at times during the night, but as soon as it is morning it's back to being very safe.
