Seaside bliss Big bay

Location is okay. But not really close to the beach. Shopping center is near by.

We couldn’t enter the property because the key wasn’t working. Owner didn’t answer my calls. Security couldn’t help either. We had to jump over the gate to open the second door and get in. Beds had red stains. Owner promised to clean the beds and deliver another key but nothing happened until the end of our stay. The Barbecue Grill outside looks very dirty and wasn’t cleaned for a long time. In the End we where asked to pay 1000 ZAR extra for smoking inside. We didn’t smoke inside so I didn’t pay. Later the accusation was dropped. After our stay I red in the other reviews the problem with the key and the bed aren’t new.

We struggled to open the wooden door as it needed repairs. In front of the door, we found cleaning supplies scattered around. The house was untidy and not properly cleaned. The balcony grill was rusted, making it impossible to braai. The basin was blocked, adding to our discomfort. Communication from the owner was poor—she did not provide house rules, and we were unexpectedly given a warning. They also did not change the bedding or provide extra towels, tissue, or cleaning detergents. When we requested a cleaning service, we were told it would cost an additional R400, which was not communicated beforehand—we had to inquire about it ourselves. Access to the gate was only provided for two people, even though six of us had booked. The security personnel were not accommodating, especially for those who did not have face recognition access to enter the premises. Additionally, the security company mishandled our parking situation, forcing us to park our car outside the mall.

The property is well equipped. Liked the fact that it is basically in a shopping centre and close to the beach and restaurants. Overall an enjoyable stay and well priced.

The cleaning equipment at the front door was left lying around and not neatly stored away when we arrived and it made it look untidy. The property needs a bit of maintenance to be done. We were battling to open the outside wooden door, because the key part of the door handle is loose. There is a lot of rust on the gas bbq and light fittings and the chairs and table on the patio needs a bit of attention. The close proximity to the sea makes things like this understandable, but it is small things that can be fixed easily.
