Masai Mara Sopa Lodge

The workers in the Lodge are very friendly and helpful. Especially, the kitchen staff and security officers.

The lodge is in the Mara area which is a controversial area. Even if you don't want to go game drive everyday, especially the first day of arrival to the hotel, you have to pay the entrance fee of the national park. And this is not written on the hotel’s web page.

Sopa was a great experience. We especially loved being right inside the National Park. We even saw zebras right outside our room, which was incredible. The rooms were comfortable and spacious, and Antony did an amazing job keeping everything clean and fresh. Edward was our main waiter and he greeted us with a big smile every time, providing excellent service. Felix from the dining room was also so welcoming and made us feel right at home. Food was plentiful with lots of varieties and delicious. Packed lunches filled our bellies. We really enjoyed our stay at Sopa and would happily return.

Pre arrival communication about logistics. Sherry was great. Our safari guide, Lawrence was amazing. Really passionate about wildlife and getting us to see as much as possible. He was arranged by the hotel and we paid him directly. Staff were nice. Beds very comfortable.

Semi-detached lodges and the walls are paper thin. You can hear everything that goes on next door. Very little space for clothes and to unpack. At 9/9:30am there was no hot water for me to take a shower.

Food, Hospitality, Service and their staff was excellent.

All good except they need to install Jet Spray in Toilets as most of the visitors were Indians.
