Rachel's House

This property deserves all the praise it has gotten from other reviewers. The location is wonderful, right in the centre of Altamura, surrounded by beautiful churches and buildings. Parking is available at the piazza at the end of the street. The apartment itself it’s a wonder. There are a couple of roof terraces, where you can enjoy your morning coffee in the delicate and beautiful china that Rachel has. The apartment is spacious for us as a family of four with 2 teens. The design is amazing, the rooms are filled with eclectic furniture and everything is unique. Rachel is the most amazing host, the care she takes for our comfort and enjoyment is what’s sets her property apart from others. She makes the most amazing breakfast, the pastries and cakes were a delight and she serves them in the most beautiful china. Rachel made sure that we had snacks, drinks and cold water when we arrived. We were spoiled throughout our stay.

Once upon a time there was Altamura: a picture perfect, Disney princess, Italian wedding destination. And right in the middle of Altamura lived Rachel in Rachel’s House. As soon as you arrive you will know you are living in a fairy tale, that everything will end happily ever after and that there will be magic. Of course the practical elements are also perfectly presented at Rachel’s House. You can park very reasonably in the piazza a hop, skip and jump away, and enjoy all the modern comforts of the immaculately presented apartment and terraces with its WiFi, air conditioning, and fully stocked kitchen. But it’s the magical touches that makes Rachel’s House so special. The antiques and collectibles throughout the apartment tell their own wonderful stories. The pastries and other delicacies that Rachel prepares each day will fill you with delight. And Rachel herself will curate your magical journey to make this a very very special stay. Rachel made us feel welcome from the very first moment. The place itself was very beautiful, and the food and breakfast were delicious and extensive. We will surely be coming back if we visit Altamura again!

Everything was perfect. The apartment was magical and huge! Tight in the main square with views of the church tower and a terrace. Everything was so beautifully finished, so many nice touches I wish we didn't have to leave! Top it all off, the hostess was so attentive and really took care of us with lots of special treats, coffee, tea, yogurt in the fridge and a massive tray of breakfast goodies. Rachele really cares about making her guests feel like family. We would highly recommend it to anyone and would love to come back!

Very authentic accomodations in the heart of the old city. Lot’s of charm from the past, and confort of today. Our hostess was absolutely marvellous.

Great location, very well kept and Rachel is a lovely caring woman. Her breakfast was lovely, she really cares.

The property was outstanding. Rachel could have been a bit more clear that we have to park outside the plaza and walk in. After a bit of confusion it all worked out.

Rachele was a very kind and generous host. Her breakfasts were excellent - different each day and prepared with care, using local produce. The accommodation was tastefully presented, making use of interesting and antique features which we appreciated. The bed was large and very comfortable, bathroom and kitchen were well equipped and beautifully decorated. It was ideally located, next to the cathedral but we were not disturbed by church bells. We enjoyed the rooftop terrace.
