Great experience, love the fireplace, the stargazing.

Hard to find and very secluded.

We've stayed at lots of different places during our New Zealand roadtrip but this one has been by far the best. The location really can’t be beat — super close to Mt Cook NP, Lake Pukaki, and Lake Tekapo, but also really private. Amazing views and easy to see the stars. Clean, really well made beds (not at all a given), hot tub (we went to Tekapo Thermal Springs so didn’t get to use it in the end), super clearly communicated self check-in. Would be great to also have bedside lamps in the two smaller bedrooms, but otherwise we couldn’t have been happier and would definitely stay again.

"One of the best day of our life!"

This place was amazing! The hot tub was the highlight of my stay. I would definitely stay here again if I had the chance.

The property was amazing, but the oven in the kitchen wasn’t clean, so I had to clean it before making pizzas.

"Private with beautiful views but needs attention in some areas."

7.0

Awesome location. Very scenic, quiet and very private. Beautiful views of the mountains. Huge property with loads of room for kids to run around. Large parking area in front of the houae. House is 15 minute drive to central Twizel for shopping and a 5 minute walk to the canals and 50 minutes to Mt. Cook. House was warm and bedrooms were small but comfortable. Each had double beds Dealing with the owner was great. He was friendly, amenable and accommodating to our party of 10.

There were a few things that would have made the stay better. For example, we were 10 people, and there were only 4 drinking glasses, 6 forks, and 20 knives. We ended up having to buy paper plates and utensils, and a baking tray. The cooking pots were pretty old and worn. It would have been nice (really nice) if the hot tub had been emptied and fresh water added. And I mean REALLY. The spa was not chlorinated and anyone who went in the spa got a bad case of hot tub folliculitis the day we left, especially the kids. Got a "I'm sorry" from the owner but no offer of anything else. I wasn't after a refund but an offer of something would have been appreciated. We are out of pocket for doctors and antibiotics. If I am being fussy, the living room carpet had multiple stains, sofa pillows were ragged and torn and the ashtray outside was full of butts, the washing machine was broken, oven was dirty, loads of bird poop on the outdoor cushions and windows etc. These are small things that didn't ruin our stay, but for $700+/night, they could/should have been nicer.

"Starry night at a private place but facilities could be better"

8.0

Private and cosy little home at a secluded area. Able to see the starry skies and milky way at night!

Hot water supply is limited. Good enough for shower for 4 pax on my guess, thereafter the hot water needs to refill overnight. Washer and dryer also has issues not working well.
