Excellent location for a group of us getting a ferry next morning from Ardrossan to Arran. Plenty of room and comfortable beds. Can recommend the Chinese takeaway in Beith.

Nothing really

The only positive aspect of my stay was the support provided by Pamela. She is a true asset to the team—compassionate, understanding, and went above and beyond to assist me and my family.

Firstly, the property is falsely advertised. The listing gives the impression of a spacious home with pleasant garden views, which was not the reality. In truth, the garden was completely unkempt, and when questioned, the explanation given was simply that “the gardener is off.” There was no prior communication regarding access issues for my disabled grandmother, who struggled significantly navigating an uneven path and overgrown trees just to reach the property. This made our arrival extremely stressful, especially given that my mother, who is terminally ill, was also with us. The entire experience was distressing for them both. Essential basic amenities were missing. There were no cleaning supplies available, and we were only provided with one towel each for a two-night stay, despite the advert stating that towels and toiletries would be provided. That claim was clearly untrue. Additionally, the cooker had no markings, making it unusable. The property description should be updated to reflect reality: it is a basic, clean home with access to shared communal areas, something that is also not made clear in the advert. This is not a suitable property for a family stay, particularly one involving vulnerable individuals; rather, it is more appropriate for short-term work accommodation. I had to call for help from others just to assist my mother and grandmother in safely leaving the property. I also reached out to the host and was assured there would be a goodwill gesture of £100, which never materialised. To add to the discomfort, a member of the domestic team entered the property without knocking. She was aware I had raised concerns and confronted me about it directly. I found her behaviour intimidating and wholly inappropriate. I am not usually someone who leaves negative reviews, preferring to remain silent rather than criticise. However, I have been left deeply disappointed by this experience.
