"We had a very pleasant and comfortable stay at the Boat House. We would book there again"

8.0

The property had been professionally converted. It had all the essential facilities. The host provided tea, coffee and biscuits for us. There was a parking space adjacent to the property

The stairs to the mezzanine level were tricky to climb up and down. Someone with reduced mobility would not be able to get onto that level

Exceptionally clean but it is very small no where to store clothes or cases, no iron or washing machine

Location and outlook in a middle of a residential estate and add on to a property

"Bad"

1.0

The outside of the property was covered in garden foliage there were no outside photos of this property on Booking.com. Why was that?

The location and outside were of a poor standard.

"Was an ok base we spent as little time there literally slept there and went out"

8.0

Once in the property it was clean well equipped

The stairs. They are in one word dangerous and you could easily fall and hurt yourself. They are wooden and slippy and the angle is frankly dangerous. We made the choice to sleep on sofa bed in lounge as wanted to enjoy our holiday without broken limbs. The upstairs is not useable you can’t even undress for bed without lying on the bed (a mattress on floor - although comfy it’s not a bed) and absolutely no storage for clothes we had to live out of our bags and no iron so that made it hard to dress nicely for an evening out we ended out going and buying a new top each as everything was creased up Also the boat house is a loose term it’s a converted garage on a terraced house which also runs a Thai takeaway which means people are having to pass your car on the already tight drive. Not ideal the entrance into the property is a back alley way and very hard to get parked Absolutely no outdoor place to relax in

Newly refurbished. Very clean. Great kitchen. Clever stairs.

The mezzanine was very hot. The staircase was quite steep- had to climb with hands and feet. Fun for some but not fun for others.

"Left immediately and rebooked elsewhere, shocker of a location."

1.0

The property was located in a very run down area and was in effect a lock up previous garage in a housing estate, which apparently once had a boat in it! It was also attached to the house which was being run as a takeaway business and whilst there was parking people were squashing pass to pick up takeaways. On arrival we immediately decided we could not stay, rebooked elsewhere despite additional costs and travel time. Contacted owner immediately on arrival and booking.com. Totally not as described.

Show pictures of location and area and at least be honest about the area it is in.

"Lovely stay, excellent and welcoming hosts. Rob enthusiastic in providing information on local attractions and walks."

8.0

Quirky and well converted. A good base within easy walking distance of Padstow harbour and coastal walks. Tesco 5 minutes away. We didn’t use our car during the 3 nights stay.

Being in our mid-seventies, we found it too difficult to sleep on the raised sleeping area, so chose to sleep downstairs on the sofa bed. The accommodation is in a housing estate on the outskirts of Padstow, without outside space.
