We loved the location! So close to so many things, but it was just on the edge so it was still quiet. The apartment was just the right size for the three of us.

We got yelled at by a neighbor to lock the doors.

Good things: The location is fantastic—just a short walk from the Old Town Square. Tram No. 1 stops only about 50 m from the front door and takes you directly to the Main Railway Station. The ticket machine is approximately 20 m across the tracks, and a single-ride ticket costs just €1.20. Additional tip: Bratislava’s integrated public transport system uses proof-of-payment—so make sure to validate your ticket right after boarding. Kitchen was reasonalby well equipped and the fridge was awesome.

Although the apartment’s location is convenient, the interior suffers from several shortcomings that significantly affected our stay. Many lights did not work, and several sockets lacked bulbs, making the space uncomfortably dark—especially since natural light is only available through four narrow front windows. Reliable lighting is essential here. The bathroom was particularly disappointing. With no shower curtain and the showerhead located over the bathtub, every shower drenched the entire floor. The provided towels (two bath towels, a hand towel, and the shower mat) were woefully inadequate to manage the flooding, and the mop included was ineffective. In the slippery bathtub, we had to improvise by placing a towel in the bottom for traction, and the shower lacked a non-slip rubber mat altogether. Drainage issues compounded the problem—the water drained slowly in both the shower and basin. The basin plug was broken, yet the drain itself was still sluggish, causing water to pool for a few minutes, just long enough for my husband to shave. Worse, the hot water supply was limited to a small heating cylinder : enough for just one decent shower, leaving the second shower cold, especially inconvenient for washing hair. If you look at the photo, you can see the tiled area behind and around the bath which turned in a Water Shute and funnelled water right into the middle of the kitchen before I noticed that was happening which resulted in a major clean up job. So as to prevent flooding the entire apartment every time we had a shower, we had to put towels on the floor in front of the bath and have the shower head about chest height to try and limit water splash. The washing machine also posed problems: during spin cycles, it bounced and vibrated so vigorously around the bathroom that it had to be held down, despite our efforts to balance the load properly.
