I love the laidback boho charm with its simple yet comfortably furnished rooms. It has a peaceful ambiance with lots of places to sit and relax surrounded by birdsong. The staff are super friendly and welcoming, and delicious, fresh breakfasts are served on the large patio. I was very happy to completely chill out on the blue and white striped sun loungers by the pool reading my book. It’s only a 10 minute drive to get into the centre of Essaouira and to enjoy exploring the medina, harbour and beach. But it was always a pleasure to return to the sanctuary of Tangaro.

Generally, the hotel was nice. It needs a bit of TLC but overall a nice place to stay. Staff are lovely.

Breakfast was £12 (150 Dirham) per person. Wasn’t mentioned until the bill came at the end of the stay. We got a few pancakes and some yoghurt so was a major rip off.

Tangaro is a very special place. From the minute we arrived at this beautiful retreat, with gorgeous traditional blue and white earthen architecture, intricate tiling, and lush cactus gardens I knew we were going to have the most incredible experience. The vibe is so relaxed, and you can feel the caring connection with nature. Staff Rashid & Ouhdan Khalil make Tangaro an even deeper beautiful experience than even the gorgeous environment shows on the surface. So welcoming and a pleasure to hang out with. They cared for our stay and we couldn’t have been happier. The food here is outstanding and is about love and sharing. We had traditional tagines, Moroccan breakfasts with delicious melon, fresh curd cheese, local honey, homemade bread, and the best pastilla fragranced with almonds and orange blossom water.

Lovely decor, comfortable cosy rooms, excellent service and great food. We loved the pool area.
