GBTolroy Manor Holiday Park: is a good location to explore West Cornwall. Good size bedroom. Good size bed. Well equipped.
Unfortunately, we booked this in something of a rush without reading between the lines. We were swayed by the "10" rating and the "private pool". The description on Booking.com read "Situated in Hayle, Claire's Place features accommodation with private pool, free wi-fi and free private parking...". The address was given as Strawberry Lane (not Strawberry Hill), which led us to infer (wrongly) that it would be near Tolroy Manor rather than in Tolroy Manor. This is a mis-descrption. The pool is NOT private. It is "shared use of pool in holiday park, by prior booking at session times stated by the management (if available)". Not before 9 am, nor after 5 pm, nor at lunchtimes - nor at 20 to 10 when I thought I would go on our last day. We did not use the pool. Parking is NOT private. It is shared with 4 other cars and is difficult to negotiate if all 4 are already in. The bathroom is downstairs from the bedroom. The living area downstairs was quite cramped. We have used Booking.com over many years and have found the numerical ratings to be generally reliable. We were surprised that this was rated at "10": we would expect it to be around 8, or maybe 8.2. If you are seeking a place on a holiday park with limited facilities or a place from which to explore West Cornwall, then this is a perrfectly reasonable, comfortably furnished, compact holiday home. It appeared to be more expensive than other properties that were available in Tolroy Manor. Overall, it was clean and comfortable.
GBPlace was very comfortable and with everything you need. We spent the majority of the time out and about therefore we didn’t use the complex for drinks or food. However members of the family enjoyed the use of the pool and the shops. It was very close to the places we wanted to visit. The host was very good with her communication and suggestions.
