Rum Angel Camp

1. Dinner was excellent and cooked in the traditional way in the ground which was very interesting to see. 2. The room was very comfortable with a nice view of the desert. 3. Mr. Tariq very kindly gave me one of his coats for the duration of my 3 night stay as it was very cold in the desert and I just had a denim jacket with me. 4. Mr. Tariq and Mr. Abdullah very kindly organised a day trip to Petra for me, plus a transfer to my next hotel in the Dead Sea for a very good price. 5. Cleaning staff are very friendly and efficient. 6. The sunrise jeep tour is worth it purely to see the sun come up, the rest was pretty underwhelming. 7. Similarly, the nighttime tour is worth it to see the stars do their thing. 8. Free tea and coffee throughout the day. 9. The common area with fireplace is a lovely area to connect to the internet and/or meet fellow travelers. 10.Wifi didn't work in my room which didn't really bother me as I went to Wadi Rum to switch off. However, I can see it being an issue for other people. I was happy to go to the common area for an hour in the evening.

The main issue I had was that the staff are pushy on a number of issues. 1. As soon as I arrived they asked for me to cancel the second two night on booking.com and pay them directly. I didn't really have an issue with this but I know they asked several guests to do this and even stood over my shoulder until I did it. 2. Staff kept asking my for a review on booking.com my first morning which was fishy as a review should be left at the end of a stay, that's the point. However, several times a day during my stay they asked for it. In addition, they have left numerous messages and missed calls on my personal whatsapp looking for a review which is extremely irritating. I'm on holiday. I'll leave a review when I'm home. 3. Some staff members made a fellow solo female traveler cry twice which enraged me: Once her first night he forced her to cancel a jeep tour she had booked with another company as they wanted the money for their tours. Along with this they tried to charge her 120JD for a jeep tour when the standard price is 40JD. Second, the pressured her into cancelling her booking.com reservation as they feared she would leave a negative review. Point three made me extremely angry as I empathise with the struggles of solo female travelers and the way she was treated was disgraceful. I said this to management on checkout and they assured me it was fine. However, I am still in contact with this woman and they offered her no apology and did not rectify the situation.

Our stay in Wadi Rum was absolutely incredible! Tareq was so helpful throughout the entire experience, and Omar kindly picked us up, making everything so smooth and easy. The camp exceeded our expectations – the food was delicious, the tea was amazing, and the highlight was definitely stargazing under the breathtaking desert sky. The room was perfect with a heater, so we stayed warm even in the chilly desert night. Everything about our stay was great, and we can't recommend this place enough.

Peace be upon you. I have traveled to many places, but this is the wonderful place that I enjoyed. It was beautiful, the facilities were excellent, the rooms were clean and wonderful, the Bedouin food was delicious, and we did some activities in the tourist places with Mr. Tariq, who received us and welcomed us. The welcome was very wonderful. Thank you for the good reception.
