Uppuveli Beach by DSK

the location was great and the beach was wonderful. The hotel opens on the garden with sea 2 mins away. along the beach, there were lovely beach shacks for food and chilling.

The rooms were old and need renovation. TheBalcony had broken paint and could do with some refurbishments. the bathroom doors and drain need to be revisited

We really liked the pool area and the clean beach. The hotel is relatively small, which means it never felt overcrowded. The staff were friendly and always did their best to accommodate our requests. The breakfast was very good, with a wide variety of options, making it easy for everyone to find something they enjoyed.

The queen-size bed felt a bit small for two teenagers. We would have appreciated a wider selection of fresh local products at breakfast. We did not try the hotel's restaurant for lunch or dinner, as we preferred eating by the beach. There are many beachfront bars and restaurants nearby offering a pleasant dining experience, and having a similar beachfront dining option at the hotel is something we feel is missing.

El personal era muy atento. La habitación muy amplia para nuestra familia de 4 con niños mayores. El área de la playa y la piscina está muy bien cuidado. Se puede ir andando por la playa (7 minutos) a una amplia selección de restaurantes locales. En general es un muy buen hotel y el personal es verdaderamente agradable.

Tuvimos una confusión con el número de personas. Nosotros reservamos para 4 y aparentemente la reserva era de dos (aunque la capacidad de la habitación era efectivamente de cuatro). Nos pidieron un incremento 25USD por niño y por noche, pero después de insistir en que la reserva siempre había sido de 4 accedieron. Por la noche hay poca vida después de cenar.

Oldukça temizdi. Odaların dışında otel geneli temiz ve peyzajı güzeldi. Tüm çalışanlar güler yüzlü ve ihtiyaç duyduğunuz konularda yardımcıydı. Günde iki kez oda temizliği yapıldı.

Akşam üzeri herhangi bir etkinlik yoktu. Yakın çevrede de pek mekan olmadığından oldukça sakin geçiyor akşamları. Ama kafa dinlemek için gidiliyorsa bir avantajda olabilir biz 5 gece konakladık sonlara doğru sıkıcı geldi ama başlarda oldukça iyi geliyor.

The hotel was above expectations. The beach was clean and beautiful, with calm sea, perfect for children, and very clear water. Before arriving, we had read mixed comments, but in our experience both the beach and the sea were excellent. The main pool and the beachfront area were also very pleasant and well maintained. We stayed in a villa with a private pool, which was fantastic. It was much better than expected from the photos, very comfortable, private, and usable throughout the day thanks to shaded areas. We received it as a complimentary upgrade, but after staying there I can honestly say it is worth it. The location is also excellent, very close to the main tourist area with restaurants, while still feeling relaxed and comfortable. For us this stop was almost a small detour in the trip, but it turned out to be a real surprise. I would happily return as a main destination.

The only negative point was that the hotel tried to cancel our booking the day before arrival, which could have seriously disrupted our holiday. Thankfully, Booking.com support helped resolve the situation. Another small inconvenience, which seems quite common in Sri Lanka, is having to pay for water separately. Even if the amount is very small, it would be much more comfortable to simply charge it directly to the room without waiting for a separate bill each time. Apart from this, we had a very good experience.
