Deloraine Tiny Retreat by Tiny Away

The cabin itself was cute and bed was comfortable enough. It's in a fairly private spot in the back yard. We were able to cook our meals there. It is a very confined space though, when the weather isn't great

It is badly located behind the house and another cottage. We couldn't get our car to the accommodation as it was wet, so had to carry the 15kg bags about 50mts. Waterproof footwear would have been appropriate. No telly, basically no WiFi, except a weak signal when standing next to the owners back fence (50mts away), impossible at night as there was no outdoor lighting, and not suitable when it's wet. Chairs outside were covered in moss and wet, leaving only small wrought iron chairs to sit on inside The chemicals in the toilet were a bit smelly even with the bathroom door shut. When the owners were not at home, communication was with Tiny Away. We went to town to get connection (too wet to stand at the fence), by the time they answered we had already left the restaurant we were at.

The place was super nice and we really enjoyed it! The place was super easy to get to from Whangarei, while still being the private rural getaway we were looking for. The place was super clean and comfy aswell, and the host was amazing! Really enjoyed and def would stay again.

Thought the view would be more of the hills and surrounding, rather was more of the backyard of the (but it is nice and private so no complaints).

Lovely location, and facilities. Gorgeous views, comfy bed, and all you needed to enjoy your stay. Kitchen was fully equipped. Cassette toilet was fine until the last night.

I arrived late at night, and it was wet. The access to the property was along the side of a house on grass. Lights on the side of the house would have been helpful, and so would a path. Otherwise, a supply of gumboots would have been helpful. The lovely hosts offered me their daughter's riding boots the next day. Also, it got cold at night. Again the hosts gave me a blanket, but heavier bedding in June would be helpful.

The view over the valley was lovely, the tiny away is tiny, but it is your own space and it has a lovely little outdoor area. The host was lovely, he greeted us at arrival and suggested AH Reid walk which I highly support the recommendation. If you like being out of town a little and not in your standard accommodation this place is perfect. Also the place was spotlessly clean and quiet, we slept so well.

Very peaceful, private and kind land owners. Land owners have lovely and friendly pet dog. Pet dog welcomes you with excitement every time you enter the property 🥰
