Japanese Guesthouse Kinosaki Wakayo (Female Only)

Lovely historic house with beautifully curated furniture etc. Good shared facilities (kitchen, lounge room), huge bedroom and lovely little garden outside. Yukatas, shoes and bag loaned as in the (much more expensive) ryokans in town, so you can get dressed up to stroll around town and to the onsens. Friendly staff. I loved the women- only atmosphere.

Was fine and comfortable for me, but the bed are traditional Japanese futons on tatami floor, and seating in lounge is also floor level - your knees will get a workout. Only downside is the noise from other rooms - the first 2 nights i was the only guest and the house was peaceful, the 3rd night inconsiderate neighbours chatted till midnight and from 6am and I could hear EVERYthing through the walls. Suggest there is a 'quiet time' curfew of say 11pm - 7.30am that staff make sure all guests are aware of.

I loved everything about this place - the moment you enter through the gate, a lush green garden greets you and you’re already calm. After the host greets you for check-in, the house rules are explained. The place is spotlessly clean and it’s very traditional. Being woman only makes one very comfortable as well. I recommend this place to anyone who’s looking for a calm and traditional stay in Kinosakionsen. My stay here was a highlight of my Japan trip - it felt like staying with your Japanese sisters in their home. Thank you for everything.

Tracte increïble de l'amfitriona, molt amable i atenta. Només arribar ens va explicar com funcionava tot a la guesthouse i ens va mostrar un mapa amb els onsens i els seus horaris. Jardí maquíssim i espai molt acollidor. Ens va donar yukates i unes bosses per portar les coses als onsens, a més d'un tovallola per cadascuna. Habitació espaiosa i còmode. Experiència completament recomanable.

The two women who ran the place were so sweet and kind! The property itself was also very beautiful and very comfortable. I appreciated getting a yukata to go to the onsen in!
