The Castle Inn

No breakfast, location great.

A hair dryer in the room would have been handy.

Lovely room and really comfortable bed - very spacious and clean. Bill and Kat , the hosts, were lovely. The bar in the pub was very entertaining and the locals are so friendly. I stayed 2 nights and had a great time. I enjoyed my stay and would stay again.

No food is available which isn't really a problem as there is a morrisons down the road for breakfast but you need to be aware that due to a recent change of hands you do need to organise your own breakfast.

good sized clean room in a location just if the heads of the valley road, easy drive to bike park Wales

They don’t do breakfast at present,but made an exception for us.Location fine.A bit confusing with the new roads system.Some are not on our GPS yet.

The Castle has recently re opened again, Could use a refurbishment.Kate and William,I think the owners,are lovely,couldn’t do enough for us.

Room was clean

Pictures of the property - first thing I didn't like was the fact that the pictures of the property have nothing to do with the reality. The pictures show a looked after property, well-kept garden with beautiful flowers. It's nothing like that! Shower - it's falling apart and with no pressure. The Karaoke Party - upon our arrival we were told by the host Bill that they were having a "Karaoke night" and we might here a boom, boom, boom in our room, but it'd be over by 11pm. We thought it was a bit inconsiderate with guests; we had a long day and just wanted a quiet place to rest as I'd have another long day on the bike the next day. I mentioned to him that we were a bit tired but okay, we left for dinner and stayed out as long as we could and got back to the accommodation around 10:30pm expecting that as we were told by 11pm it'd be over. The loud music and the terrible and out of sync singing went on until 12am! Heating issues - to save few quid, the heating was switched on only when we arrived (host Bill even mentioned that the room was cold but it'd get warm very quickly as he had just switched on the heating) and then switched off after the hosts finished their karaoke night at 12am. When it was about 3am and I woke up freezing cold and thought that the radiator was set low but, on the touch, it was ice cold and then I realised the host had switched it off for the night (5C outside). I did not manage to fall asleep again from that point, my wife who was already not well with flu, started to have sore throat. At 7am met the hosts downstairs and for my surprise not even an apology, just mismatched justifications about the reason the heating was off, needless to say that I packed my things and left and will never come back to this place. The heater wasn't set to I as host replied, heater was switched off!
