Luz Casa de Huespedes

El cuarto está muy bien equipado así como la cocina. En general la casa era tranquila. La host y el personal de limpieza fueron muy atentas.

Me hubiera gustado más poder tener la opción de llegada autónoma así como que se me permitiera ponerle seguro a mi baño ya que estaba al exterior de mi cuarto.

La cama un pelín incomoda y se escucha ruido de fondo al dormir, no es música, es ruido de fondo sin mas

Es war ruhig, sehr sauber, gemütlich und entspannt.

A wonderful place to stay several nights. Very well thought and comfortable : good beds, good shower (pressure and hot) bathroom with space to put your toilettries, nice light in the room with bedside lamps, a desk, wooden hangers (which is so rare!). Super-well equipped shared kitchen on the rooftop.

It can be noisy if your neighbours are disrespectful and if there is a show at the auditorium. You better check the calendar!!

The Beige room is fine, but not the nicest. It's the only one without an attached bathroom. It doesn't have the best view, but it's fine overall.

Lovely. Reasonable. Strong WiFi for zoom calls in general (though didn’t work one afternoon so have a back up plan — it’s Mexico ;) Sweet little kitchen. Privacy but social space upstairs with nice view. Quiet street. No cars… just occasional dogs barking (it’s Mexico ;)

It’s a 10 Min walk to “the center” or things. Which is fine - just build that in.

Ricardo is a very hospitable host, he replied to our questions immediately. He greeted us at the property and explained how everything works. It was good to have a safe onsite parking at the property. The shared summer kitchen and terrace on the top floor is also a nice highlight, a place where you can have your breakfast and a coffee before you start your day.

The rooms appear much more spacious on the photos than in reality. Also, they would need some refurbishment. The place is like your grandmothers’s place: cute in a way but not refurbished for the last 40 years: old floors, old built-in wardrobes. The big inconvenience of the place is the vicinity of the Oaxaca auditorium. When we stayed there, a music concert was taking place there until 3:00 am and as a result we had a sleepless night. If you don’t plan to attend a concert at the auditorium, think twice before booking ‘Luz Casa de Huespedes’. Definitely check if concerts are going to take place during your stay. Lastly, the whole house is infested with pharaoh ants. This is not OK to host people in the house before running a pest control treatment. All of our luggage was infested, in the kitchen the only safe place safe from the ants was the fridge where other guests kept even sugar. Overall, the hosts are very hospitable and accommodating but the issue of pharaoh ants needs immediate attention. The cleaning lady only sprayed the room locally with a product and this is not enough. Guests risk infecting their homes further. One would expect more for this price.
